Anyone have to wear a Distal Jet?
Have any of you had to wear a distal jet? Is there anything you can tell me?

How long do you have to wear them? They are a pain in the behind, I know, and I still have pain after being in them since Feb. 9th. We just have to keep telling ourselves it will be worth it in the end. It's funny, cause my only goal right now is getting these things out of my teeth! Back to the poi...

I feel for you! The assistants did warn me about the pain, but they also said it was by far the worst part of the process. I didn't think my teeth were very crowded, but I was wrong. My mouth is very small (husband still doesn't believe that) so I have to make lots of space. Sucks! I don't get these...

I sooooo sympathize with you guys! I hate these nasty little things. I also had one come out and oooh it was blessed relief (even if it was only one spacer out of 8)! I thought I only had to wear them for a week and when I found out it was for three, I had to hold back the tears - I mean it! I didn'...

Luckily my insurance covers 80%, but my total was still $2100.00. My ortho offers a 5% discount if you pay by cash or check at the beginning of treatment, so that helped quite a bit. Still, paying $2100.00 out of pocket in one lump sum hurt and I'm skimping on things for a while. But, hey, that's ok...

I haven't had to deal with extractions, but unless your dental insurance lists cosmetic extractions an EXCLUDED BENEFIT, it should be covered. The safest way to handle the situation is to contact them yourself and give them all the details just to make sure. There may be some aspects of your treatme...

That's hilarious, Dark Angel! I've had them in for a week already, but the sorness has not gone away. The ortho said just bite the bullet and eat hard food. The more you do, the more sorness you'll work out. I think he's secretly laughing at me! Bananas are my best friends right now - oh, and mashed...

Very valid concerns, but the end result will be sooooo worth it! I am 31 and just now getting braces (also to correct an eye tooth). I don't like the idea of being in braces, either, but it's something I'm willing to go through (two years vs a lifetime of beautiful smiles!). Actually, have you consi...

Thanks for your reply Dr. J . The orto said I would need four extractions - 2 on top, 2 on bottom, but only wear the distal jet on top. ???? But, I agree with you, it would be the same result if I had two extractions vs. the distal jet, but with it being four, does that make any more sense? And, do ...
