Oops, havn't posted in awhile :P My gap is closing. Quicker than I would've imagined. It looks significantly smaller than it did at its biggest right now. However, as my left front tooth is moving in, it seems there is a gap developing between my left front tooth and the one beside it (not the right...

Just finished my cranking on Monday. I was originally supposed to finish last week but my ortho decided I needed to do it more. My luck, naturally! But now it is supposedly finished (though I'll see what he says on Thursday, my next appointment).

Last measure my ortho took on the gap was 6.5mm.

Lina: and it'll be over before you know it! I went to my ortho yesterday. He said my teeth are where they need to be, however since the jaw relapses, we have to expand 30% over. So I turn twice today and tomorrow, then only once a day until Thursday. I'm so glad that it's wrapping up! My gap is abou...

Not too much going on with me... I went to my ortho today and he said everything looked great. I am at 4mm right now and he said we're going for 8mm, and I'm due back a week today, and that's also when I hopefully stop turning. I was kind of getting this weird clicking sound when I chew sometimes or...

kballing: Wow, no numbness? You're lucky! Do you think you've experienced more pain because of that or has it been pretty good? I can't wait until this numbness goes away.. I keep feeling all these little ticks and things so I know something is going on. The key turning is going fine! I find I get p...

kballing: :) I'm not sure how many I'm doing, no one has seemed to give me an amount... I see my ortho in a few days, and until then I'm supposed to do 2 turns a day so I guess I'll just have to take it from there. What was/is the numbness like for everyone and how long until you had feeling back? I...

mia : That liquid stuff is killer after awhile...! Anyway my swelling is so slowly getting better.. feeling of regret also slowly getting better! I'm really curious to see how my face is going to change. I have a thin, oval face with not very prominent cheekbones so I hope this will make a good cha...

Brandy: Oops, I forgot to mention what jaw surgery I am getting! My surgeon sent me a letter outlining everything and this is what he said: "I would recommend you undergo the surgical impaction of the upper jaw combined with the surgical setback and rotation of the lower jaw to correct for symm...

Brandy: Wow... all I can say is that I wish had your experience! haha. But now I can't complain, I think the worst of it is behind me. About the diet... I had to have liquid because I couldn't chew; it hurt to move my jaw. As well my mouth wouldn't open very far, but now I'm slowly trying to stretch...

Here goes my story.. I just had my SARPE on Wednesday the 15th. I also had a random tooth that was growing in my lower gums removed (lovely!). They tried to remove it when I had my wisdom teeth out in June but it was too wedged in there. At least it's out now. I am still swollen as this is only the ...

Thanks for the responses! I was just wondering about the nose getting wider because I wasn't sure if expanding the palate would affect the nose at all. Along with this, after braces, I'll be getting jaw surgery as well. I have those lovely TMJ symptoms. Not to mention that one side of my jaw is slig...

How has SARPE affected the look of the face? My surgeon told me it would bring out the cheekbones a bit more, and definitely wouldn't make anything worse, but better rather.

Probably a silly question, but it wouldn't affect the look of the nose at all, would it?
