i saw someone on the forum mentioned that alcohol based mouthwashes can degrade ligatures and make them more susceptible to staining (if you wear clear w/ ceramics). i have no experience with that so can't say for sure. have u tried the ACT for kids (bubblegum flavor)? it has no alcohol and has fluo...

i had 6 consults and every orthodontist i saw said that there is no difference in how well they work. the technology is the same, u glue the brackets on and shove in archwire. it kind of annoys me when i hear of orthos trying to bully their patients into getting metallics (and even lying!). should b...

thanks everyone. just checking b/c i thought 8 wks might be on the longer side, but i guess avg seems to be between 6-8 wks.

How badly did the first adjustment hurt? mine is scheduled for the week of finals and i'm concerned that headache/pain might affect my performance.

oh yeah, actually extractions were the hardest part for me. not b/c of the pain or fear b/c i had already had wisdom teeth done and didn't think it was a big deal, but b/c of the psychological barrier to getting perfectly good teeth pulled. also, once they're pulled, you're locked until the gaps clo...
