It must depend on the dental clinic.. I'm paying €5,300. That's about $6,500 and £3,500.. 47 Upper and 11 Lower. It includes all your visits and the Xrays etc. For me, ordinary train tracks would have been €4,700 and i would have had to wear them for a similar amount of time.. I'm not sure abou...

Statman, the tongue thing is exactly what happens to me :yuck: but if you take out the aligner and rub plenty of orthodontic wax on the bottom edge of it it's a big big help. It like a kind of lubricant layer and after a day or so you won't even need the wax anymore because your tongue seems to get ...

Go to your chemist and buy some orthodontic wax now!!! My tongue was getting rubbed so much in my first couple of days that it was really sore. The sore tongue was the thing that affected my speech not the aligners so i would definitely invest in some of that now so you can keep it in your pocket fo...

Don't worry about the backpacking - i'm just back from travelling in a 3rd world country and removing the aligners for eating etc was an unbelievably minor irritation! You'll be able to do it, it's no problem.

Thanks guys! You all seem to know a lot more than me - my orthodontist is nice but not exactly a people person! He did say it was ok to go to the pub and have some booze though. He said it's best to stick to whie wine or vodka and 7up to avoid staining.. I suppose you could always nip to the loos ev...

Thanks it's good advice - it's kind of what i did last night! I don't feel too bad today, i am taking painkillers though but it's not too bad! I'm interviewing people for a job in my work later though so not really looking forward to that with the speech a bit dodgy and all! The worst bit is how ann...

This is very scary! I'm getting my first aligners in 2 hours time.. You sure it's not just that some people's teeth aren't suited to just Invisalign? My friend has been having othodonic treatment since she was 13! She's now 26! Not invisalign but some people are seriously unlucky so that's the way i...

I'm waiting for my aligners at the moment but my ortho also said that it's ok to eat with them in. He said not to eat anything hard or crunchy though. I think one of the reasons you shouldn't eat with them is that they'll stain..

Best of luck :)

Hey there It's great to read all your messages. Very interesting. I'm getting moulds done for Invisalign at the moment. I've been called back to get the mould for my lower jaw re-done for the second time as there was a "slight flaw". Has this happened to anyone else? I'm a bit worried my o...
