midline

Did you have extractions done ? Is that why the midline is off?
I just realized I've never looked at my midline lol.

It's a great idea to take the pics in. I think sometimes the ortho just sees you from one angle and doesn't absorb the whole picture.

Good luck!

The metal speed braces sound pretty neat , but I imagine a lot of adults get ceramic braces.
I am a 31 year old mother of two and college student, and I went full metal for the shock value :pinkbraces: lol.

I agree

I had 4 extractions done last month, and I go back to ortho in couple of weeks to connect the front teeth to the back ones again (undid some of the wire for the extractions). In the front I have noticed my bottom teeth seem to be spacing out. When they first put the braces on , everything was super ...

Hehe

I would say that those kids are probably so self conscious and worried about how THEY look that they won't even look that closely at you. However, they will definitely notice your braces, and I agree that if you keep a sense of humor and stay relaxed, they'll probably be able to identify with you, b...

hmmm

Luckily I haven't lost a bracket, just had a molar band come loose and be re cemented. However, my ortho said that my payment plan covers everything, I assume that he meant bracket replacement.

hmmm

By elastics, do you mean something other than the tiny rubber bands around each bracket? Because if that's what you mean, I've never changed mine  . The ortho girl puts the elastics on with a strange tool, and there is one around each bracket in my mouth. No one has ever mentioned changing th...

I agree

About printing the pics and taking them to your ortho. I can see what you mean by that tooth. I can't really judge tho, my teeth are horribly crooked right now, in fact I have a recessed tooth under a 'fang' on the top jaw. I've only been in braces a little while though. IMHO, since you are paying f...

Nice

I like the color of your lower powerchain. I have been getting silver elastics because I'm not brave enough to try colors yet lol. Especially with having 4 teeth recently removed, I don't want to attract attention to my mouth :? (well any more than my full metal mouth already attracts). Your teeth l...

Ugh

I am paying $4400 for metal, would have been $200 /per jaw extra to have clear ones. Only discount offered was if I paid in full , which I can't do. I don't think it's fair that dental insurance doesn't cover adult ortho :? I mean REALLY as much as some dental/medical insurance costs (like ours), I ...

Nita lol...maybe the shots I had had adrenaline as well...all I know is that I was all dizzy and seriously almost hit the floor! Sounds like your experience was a lot like mine! Don't worry too much, alwayshungry. As you can see from the other posts here, the main problem was just the apprehension. ...

Ack!

8 months or so to have gaping holes in both jaws? The ortho helper girl (not sure what proper title is) said she had the exact ones removed as I have, and you can't tell by her smile. I do have a hard time looking at my yucky mouth in the mirror and imagining my teeth straight and non-holey ...
