I am 29 and also starting the process. I have an expander in, getting some teeth extracted in two weeks, then braces after that.

This site has great information. And the people are pretty cool too!!

I thought it was just me because I haven't seen a topic where anyone talked about it. I only have a spacer in so far, but my bite seems to be changing also. The same thing, sometimes I can bite all the way, and sometimes I can't. And the lower jaw does want to hang out a little to the front. Strange...

I use Colgate Total Mint Stripe Gel!!

I used to use Colgate Simply White, but I can't use whitener now.

Thank you for all the advice. My Ortho gave a quick mention to ceramic, but because I have a little while before they go on, we didn't get into it much. What advice does anyone have on choosing between the two?

Comfort? Durability? Looks? Length of treatment?

Is it worth it to get the ceramic braces?

I will be getting braces within the next month or so, need to choose.

I am nervous about the whole thing. Eating is going to be a challenge I'm assuming. I have the spacers in now and my teeth are pretty sore when I eat. I am guessing it will be about the same if not worse when the braces go on.
