Thanks for all the support. Eating is getting easier, they don't hurt as bad. Everyday is better and better. It is very true that it is different for everyone. Not everyone will experience the same things when getting braced. The first two days I had to put wax on the back bottom left bracket. Where...

Braces finally on

Image

Got my braces on Tuesday!! :pinkbraces:

No problems as of yet. I can't close my mouth all the way but it is getting better as the days go on.

Flossing is now a challenge and I am brushing 3-4 times a day.

It has been one week today since they have been removed. Today has been the best day so far. I think the pain was because of the bone chip. The surgeon's office said it is normal/common but I haven't seen anyone post anything about it on here. I don't want to scare you, everyone is different. Just f...

I called the office this morning. They said it was bone chips and it is very common for them to work their way out. YUCK! Most people don't even notice.
They said I probably swallowed it last night while I was sleeping. Lovely. Just what I always wanted.

But other than that, I am doing ok.

Teeth extraction question...

Hello all, I had 5 teeth extracted last Tuesday (4 pre-molars and 1 wisdom). The wisdom tooth area is giving me a lot of pain, the other 4 no problem at all. My biggest question (and concern): is it possible for the oral surgeon to leave part of the tooth in there??? My pain has been getting worse s...

Today is the day.....I just ate my breakfast and drank my last drink for a while. It is 7:15 and my appointment is at 2:00 (That's a long time to not have something to drink, especially with my expander. I find that I constantly have a water bottle with me. It is alot easier to talk with a wet mouth...

Sillygirl's story (pics)

Hello all, I am 29 and started the process of getting braced. I should have gotten braces when I was younger but lack of money caused it to not happen. Sooo, now I have to have surgery on my jaw to bring it forward and center it (the left side of my jaw locks closed). The oral surgeon said it(my jaw...

The wire area feels rough and my tounge keep rubbing against it causing my tounge to get raw on the end. Is this normal? I have an expander in (Quad Helix) and it feels like a paperclip is in my mouth. My tongue was horribly raw for several days. I rinsed with saltwater 5 times a day and my tongue ...

My husband has really good insurance, they will pay for most of the ortho bill. But when we discussed it originally, they wanted the records fee the day I had the impressions done (350.00). After that, when the treatment started (with me, when the expander went on) they wanted a monthly payment of a...
