Hi Melfly! Welcome to the board! I had 4 teeth extracted before I got my braces, two on top and two on bottom. I have a severe overbite, and my is worse than yours. My first option was to have jaw surgery but I could not afford it, so we decided to try a new product called "anchor screws" ...

I had 4 teeth pulled and it cost me $730 with my insurance. The total cost without my insurance was $1300.

Before I had my teeth pulled I searched the net to find out info and I learned that the cost depends on which tooth is pulled. Molars are more expensive.

But I can still feel your pain! :(

Thanks KK! You are right, I didn't think about all the new technology and advancements that dentists and doctors are discovering everyday.

It really is nothing to worry about it. You all have made me feel so much better. Like I told Hollywood_smile, I guess I am just being paranoid!

KJM, thank you so much for the information! It really is something to think about, b/c I would not want my children to go through the things I had to go through before I got braces. So if they need them, my husband and I will definitely make sure they get them! MACKENZIE, You are sooo right, ...

I'm looking forward to eating a SNICKER BAR! Before braces I had to have a snicker bar at least every other day. I also can't wait to take pictures with my new smile! (I always had to move my lower jaw forward to disguise my upper buck teeth when I smiled) And of course I am looking forward to...

My mouth is very dry since I got braces. I find myself licking the top of my braces with my tongue just to get them a little wet. And if I talk to someone for a long time, my top braces feel funny.....like your teeth feel when you first wake up in the morning, Yuck! I don't know, maybe it's just me!...

I have really been enjoying my marriage and we really don't want kids right now anyway, but I was just wondering! :)

Hello Ronnie889! I am 26 years old and I have ceramic on top and metal on bottom. I really like them because they make your braces less noticeable. But a lot of people like metal so I guess the decision is yours. Maybe you should go through this forum and read about different opinions that people ha...

Married couples w/braces, do the kids need braces too???

I was wondering, since I have braces and my husband also had braces in high school, will our kids need to have braces also? Family wise, his family on his mother's side has (for a lack of words) "bad" teeth but his father's side does not. Two of his siblings had to have braces put on their...

Poola, did you read my mind? :) I have been wanting to ask that question too! I have read how a lot of people have lost weight and I have had my braces for a month and I still eat as much as I did before. I do hate cleaning my braces and getting food stuff in them, but it really doesn't bother me th...

You are so welcome Grin&Barit73! I agree with you, this is a wonderful board. Everyone gives you so much support. My husband had braces in high school, and his support is good, I mean he understands but it does not compare to this board. You can ask a question about your braces and somebody will...
