i agree with all above.
i am only 6 weeks post-op and i keep wondering why didn't i do this earlier. my recovery was actually so smooth that it is silly to think that i even thought twice about it.

4 beauty- great to hear from you and glad to hear that you are doing well. i have been continuing mld to make sure all of the swelling completely subsides for good. although people don;t notice that i have any swelling at all and it is not noticeable to me anymore either, i understand that there is ...

HELP. i know they say it isn't possible....
my porcelain braces are clearly stained, and i have wire ligatures, so it isn't just the ligs. i had orthognathic surgery on dec. 5 so have been on a liquid diet and have been drinking things with blueberries and cherries and lots and lots of tea. my braces clearly look much darker than my teeth. ev...

awww, i so remember that exploding head feeling. i wasn't able to even do yoga for a very long time. in fact, i remember feeling pressure for some time afterwards, like a couple of months when i would do downward dog. i think all of this is very normal. also, in regard to numbness i think brandy had...

oh, jenn, sorry to hear that you are feeling frustrated. interestingly, day 11 was about the day that i felt worst with my sarpe surgery. i didn't have any numbness but i was cranking the expander two times twice a day and believe me i know the pressure is really difficult. hang in there and be pati...

yes, this is def. one of the frustrations. check with your surgeon though for sure, there is such variability. i actually will begin doing some more moderate exercise starting on Saturday as i just can't stay put any longer. won't do plyometrics or anything so that i don't jar my jaw too much. but w...

YAY! so glad to hear your update. i know all of us have been wondering how things were going for you. sounds like you will be ready to get back to normal living very soon. i didn't have numbness with sarpe, but lower lip and chin are numb from the jaw advancement and now i am about 16 days post op a...

that's great, laurence! glad to hear that you are regaining feeling. i don't know how to describe what i am experiencing, it feels similar to what a bee sting feels like pretty much all along my lip. i actually think i am regaining some feeling although it is hard to tell really. guess it is j...

Lip burning feeling, does that mean healing?
Hi all, i will send my 2 week post-op update soon, but in the meantime, quick question. my bottom lip which is pretty much completely numb feels a little like it is burning today. is this a good sign or a sign of concern or just hownumbness feels after awhile. just curious. this is the first time i ...

i have to say that i think this is one of those cases where it is really just best to listen to your body and if you have the awareness to back off if you feel it is starting to affect you negatively. after sarpe, i really knew i couldn't do certain things, i def. had trouble with yoga for awhile si...

well, i don't think i can help much since i am only about 12 days post-op, but i had a couple of really hard areas and the MLD therapist mentioned that sometimes everything congeals in one area (that is why we spent so much time working on those areas to get them to move). i had some luck with using...

not sure if you saw my earlier post, but my surgeon was very adamant that i not do ANY exercise at all for 6 weeks!!!! nothing, nothing but walking. i normally have around 2 hour work-outs plus yoga, so this is quite a shock to my system. i am just now 12 days out and i am likely to go insane before...
