i can finally add to this thread. I finally kissed somebody since getting braces and oh boy was i ever nervous about the whole thing. Well I'm sure it wouldn't be that bad if I didn't think about the braces so much and I'm pretty sure i scratched him, or something along those lines, while kissing :r...

I know what you mean exactly. This happens more with people who didn't know you'd be getting them..well with me, that's the case. I get so uncomfortable when they don't comment on them, so I just end up saying something like "Oh did you notice?, i got braces". Lol i know it's kinda stupid,...

hmm maybe i should look into it as welll. Since i got braces i never really had any problems and thought i was pretty good with brushing everything away....so i guess i'm wrong huh

Hey! I'm from Canada and not over 30, BUT I do see a lot of older people with braces. I work in a grocery store and see three loyal adult customers with braces, not counting others. It's pretty awesome and they are so happy with them too. Gives us something to talk about other than groceries.

I haven't used wax at all since i got my braces. Sometimes i get a bit of discomfort, but it's nothing worth putting wax on. Maybe my skin is a tough cookie to crack
