I'm baaaack...

and braced again! Well, re-braced on the top 8 brackets (yay, no molar bands!)...my four month retainer check was today, and after looking at my bite for a good five minutes my ortho said he was no longer happy with my results. Even after 24/7 retainer wearing (removable and permanent-- I was OBSESS...

So, I'm NAKED! :D Barely. I walked into the building to go to my appointment today at 9:00 (it wasn't until 9:45, but I took an early train into the city) and everything was completely dark, and there was a lovely shrill buzzing sound. Apparently, construction in the city of Philadephia knocked the ...

Bottom permanent retainer

Hi guys, I was wondering for those of you who have a permanent bottom retainer whether or not you notice a lisp during the first few days? I'm nearing the end of my treatment (~2.5 months to go), and my ortho wants to put one on my bottom teeth...but I have a wedding to go to (with speech) 3 days af...

Several people on here, inlcuding myself, have had adjustments many months in a row that involve the following: Taking off old ligs, putting same size wire back on, putting on new ligs. Ligs change, nothing else. I really don't think it's that uncommon...not having an adjustment would mean you would...

Thanks guys! The most movement was from my last adjustment...not even a month ago that bottom tooth was totally out of place still, and he did a TON of weird wire ties and stuff on the bottom teeth, and it was in place in about a week!

I think sometimes even when you're careful dry sockets happen...I had four dry sockets after my wisdom teeth removal, and I didn't do anything on the "no-no" list. ;)

Feel better!

I had an RPE for 3 months, and I've seen a big improvement without surgery. I'm only 21, and my ortho was hesitant to try it...but I didn't actually need a lot of expansion-- I brought up using the expander to get a wider smile. He took xrays along the way to make sure my teeth weren't tipping, and ...

Expander OUT-- PAIN!

Sooo, I got my RPE out on Friday, and had a very eventful adjustment as well! I asked the assistant if it was going to hurt to get the expander out, and she said that for most people it is only a slightly uncomfortable weird feeling-- not much pain. Well, 3/4 of the molar bands that she clipped came...

Hey bracketed, I'm not samantha_lou, but I've had an RPE as well for a couple of months and can help out with the speech topic! I got used to the speech problem (mostly just adjusting to not being able to touch the roof of my mouth to say certain words) within about 3-4 days. I would say that...
