I got powerchains the second day after getting braces, that's 10 days after 4 extractions.... those powerchains haven't bothered me much though. I have four of them.

I'm very thin too (not sure about "underweight" though).... lost 3 pounds in my first week with braces but that's all. I eat lots of yogurt now, the whole milk kind, not the low-fat ones. and yes peanut butter!! I used to always have them with breakfast toast, but it's only weekend treats ...

my dentist recommended it, so now I have a perio check up and cleaning every 6 months, besides cleaning by my dentist every 6 months... that 4 times a year! I'm hoping this helps to keep my gums in good condition

I felt the same way when I had my braces last Monday! hang in there and it will get better. and use the wax ... for a whole week I was living on yogurt and rice pudding. only this week was I able to try some over-cooked noodles, very very slowly...

My ortho gave me samples of Phos Flur but also said I could use ACT ... so I think that means they do the same thing!
