bbsadmin , thanks for the grim but probably true report...I'm already beginning to accept it, since there really doesn't seem to be other options out there. You're right, I think those plans view these situations as pre-existing, and they've managed to weasel their way out of covering them. So as m...

Billy , Thanks for the info. I prolly should've asked about it when I was first thinking of switching jobs, cuz it's been a while back since then and I don't think I can elect to have COBRA anymore. So I guess I'm resigned to paying the remaining balance as well :( Oh well. Thanks, though! That was...

Previous insurance was terminated...what now?

Hi guys, I'm not sure if anyone's been in the same boat as I'm in, but here's my current dilemma: I switched jobs midway through my orthodontic treatment, and my previous employer provided good dental insurance that covered up to USD2,000 of that treatment (my total is about $5,000). Fast forward to...

I dunno why I always feel like I'm being rushed out the door (maybe because I really am hehe), but yeah I'll ask next time.

Those two powerchains are pretty...um...powerful right now. I'm beginning to feel the pull already :p

missing laterals, canines to sub, but ortho's freakin me out

Hi, I just went in for my 5th adjustment today and my ortho put power chains to close out the two extraction-caused gaps in my lower teeth. I asked about the gaps in my upper teeth, and he said that the treatment there would be trickier (Earlier in life some dentist took out my permanent lateral tee...

i just had some pad thai last week, and man did that stain badly :( i thought we weren't supposed to use whitening toothpaste cause we might make the rest of the teeth not covered by the brackets whiter, thereby giving us a yellowish square when they remove the brackets? just a question :D i've been...

i probably just have to get used to it, after all, it's only been 3 days :D

yeah, i think i'll ask my ortho about the length of time that this thing's gonna be on, and i'll ask him to be specific this time :) last time's answer was "until the tooth rotates to a better position."
