I know mine was due to the fact that once my expansion was done my upper teeth were off center from my bottom ones, so as the gap between my front teeth closed; it would open up other spaces . My ortho just keeps putting a longer power chain on at each appointment until they m...

Hey everyone, Hope everyone is doing well. Mia, sorry to hear that you have to wait until the end of August to get rid of the RPE. My ortho told me that he will take mine out on August 16th which means that mine will have been in for 4 months and he finally put a powerchain on to start closing my ga...

Lots of mash potatoes and kraft macaroni and cheese is what I ate after I had the SARPE surgery. Also stuff like pudding and ice cream and soup are also good. Pretty much whatever your body will let you have. Just listen to what your body tells you. If you have any pain when eating something specifi...

Hey Selims, I just got my powerchain put on yesterday at my ortho appointment and my surgery was back on May 10. Even though I just got it on yesterday, it has already started to close the gap. Hopefully in another 2 weeks or so it will be closed. And my ortho said at my next appointment which will ...

Gap Closing???

Hey Slawdawg, Was just wondering how the closing of your gap is coming now that you have the powerchain on. I go this Thursday to get mine and I figure that my gap is about the same size as yours when you finished expanding. It is really starting to get on my nerves. Everytime I look in the mirror t...

Mia: Glad to hear that your gap is getting close to being history and Brandy your pictures do look very nice. Unfortunately my gap has not begun to close yet. I finished expanding on May 26 and went to see my ortho on June8 and he said that everything looked good and that I expanded 9mm, but all he ...

SARPE Expansion Update.

Hi all... Only 4 more days of expansion and then I will be done. I've turned mine 23 times myself so far so I should end up around 30... Feeling pretty good even though I do have a pretty large gap between my front teeth but hopefully at next Thursdays ortho appointment they can start closing that b...

Brandy, I think I have to expand 8mm. Had my appointment with the ortho yesterday and he told me that everything was looking good and that I needed to keep turning my RPE twice a day until Friday, May26. That would make it 2 weeks. I forgot to ask my surgeon how many times she turned it during surge...

5 DAYS POST-SARPE UPDATE

5 Days and counting. All is going very well. Swelling is pretty much all gone and no pain to speak of. Have an appointment with my orthodontist today and a follow up with my Oral Surgeon on Thurs. Really starting to see changes in my mouth already. My gap has stayed pretty much the same; just a litt...

Kyle, I know exactly what you are going through. I just had my surgery 48 hrs ago and let me tell you the worst part of the whole thing is the wait. You keep running different things through your head and it works you up to were you start getting nervous about having the surgery. But I can tell you ...

48 hrs post SARPE

Well it's been 48hrs since my surgery and everything is going great. Don't have any pain and only minor swelling around my upper lip and cheeks. My nose is congested but that was expected. Other than that , I had a pretty easy go of it. I would say the worst part of the whole process so far was the ...
