I thought I was the only one with this problem... My bite changes all the time it seems, and so does my biting problem. Lately I bite the inside of my left cheek when eating or talking too fast. It gets really embarrassing too, because if I talk too fast I sometimes even bite my tongue, and I think ...

First Adjustment- uneventful but good news
Well, today was my first adjustment. Nothing was changed, however and i was bummed. I guess this wire isn't done levelling(?) But she did clip my wires in the back on all 4 sides and I haven't needed wax at all (I even ate) so I guess my fishhook is officially gone! Thank God-- I've been wearing wax...

When I first got braced I talked funny too, I almost wanted to get them removed because of it.. Then I realized because they felt so big and foreign in my mouth, I was trying too hard to get my lips around them, and I was making myself talk funny. A month later, I'm more used to them, and I only fee...

I did salt-water rinses once at night for the first couple weeks because of wanting to avoid mouth sores, and it really helped. Now I don't do them as often, unless i'm having a problem. When I occasionally have gum or tooth soreness, I found that brushing with warm water actually seems to soften my...

Be careful if you decide to get the wire clipped... Maybe it's long enough where they can bend it, and that would be better. I had a pokey wire that they tried to snip, and they ended up having to grind it with a tool. The problem is it made the wire sharp like a fishhook and now my cheek gets caugh...

Thank you butterfly! That article about the dog with braces was crazy, i've never heard of that in my life. My dog would never go for that- she loves to eat way too much!! I'll keep posting pics. Right now a lot of my molars are feeling spongy and my bite is way off on one side. No movement that I c...

Leslie022, I just looked at your whole thread and your progress is awesome!! I am so jealous...but happy for you. I have the Damon 3's and didn't realize that you could get power chains with them. I wonder if I'll ever get those...? Anyway, my first checkup is at my 5-week mark. I'm wondering if it'...

K-9 wants to be braced
Kind of off topic, but I think I caught my dog making fun of my teeth...there's just no end to the humiliation...lol http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/9082/pippy0054tz.jpg Her bottom teeth are kind of crooked, and her top lip sometimes gets caught on them, so maybe she's just jealous and wants braces...

Hi storeyrich I have braces because of the many gaps in my teeth. I will be getting fixed retainers on the top and bottom as well as the Essex. My ortho said that i'll only really have to wear the Essex retainers at night since I'll have the fixed ones as well. I think he just wants to make doubly s...

Thanks Kiwi and Leslie022! Last nite a bracket came loose off of one of my molars while I was eating. Some of my teeth have been loose and I automatically thought one of my teeth fell out--pretty scary! Anyway, my ortho's assistant got me in today and reglued the bracket for me, so I asked her to sn...
