Thank you, everybody! So far, so good. No staining...yet! But I haven't had coffee in days (this is very hard) and I've avoided spaghetti sauce, pizza, etc. Do you think if drank coffee through a straw and brushed right away I could get away with not staining them? Right now I've only been drinking ...

clear ligatures
Well, I made the jump back into braces for a while. Today I was given clear ligatures, which I've never had (I didn't even know they had them). For those of you who have had clear ligs, how bad do they stain? What foods should I avoid? And when/if they do stain, what color do they turn? Any suggesti...

Update from "Who Pays"
I wanted to let you know what happened after posting last month's topic "Who Pays?" (about getting braces a second time after Invisalyn because of an upwardly and outwardly straying tooth). My new ortho said he'd put them on free of charge, and I have an appointment to do so in a few weeks...

I had both. Invisalyn can't do as much as braces -- for instance, it can't pull down teeth. I had to wear a rubber band for a while over my Invisalyn try to try to pull down a tooth (really ugly!). Eventually, I got braces because it just didn't work. My teeth looked a lot better after the braces, a...

I started Invisalyn in 2002 and used it through 2005, when I had ceramic braces put on for five months. By that point, my ortho was frustrated with how little Invisalyn was able to accomplish in my situation and I was just relieved to have my teeth look better, even though I didn't want braces in th...

Thanks for your input. I'll let you know if anything happens. It's the same dental office, just a different orthodontist, and I didn't have to pay for braces the first time. They should have put something on the back of the tooth to keep it from regressing, since it had a history of doing that throu...

Who Pays?
I feel strange asking my orthodontist this question since he's new (my previous ortho quit), so I'm asking for your input. First, some background: I started with Invisalyn four years ago; it didn't work, so last year they put braces on my teeth (for about six months), specifically because one tooth ...
