I wish I had gotten them at 28! It took 3 expensive consults over 4 years before I finally decided to get them at age 31. I remember thinking that if I gotten them 4 years prior, I would have had them off already at 31. That made me finally go for the 4th and final consult. No regrets since I know i...

My orthodontist is in NYC too and mine costs $11,000. I had 3 other consultations with other orthos and they ranged from $9,500 - 11,000. My treatment is for 2.5 years and I'm almost 2 years through, although my orthodontist is saying it may go on for longer (without any extra charges). As for talki...

Ahhh, I wish my ortho had the same thing for me. Wax does not really cut it. I'll have to ask about it at the next appointment.

Good luck with the post-op.

Yup, you can see the wire behind a couple of the gaps. I'm hoping the gaps will close after my next adjustment.

Lionfish, how long have you had your linguals on for now?

6 month mark

I'm now just past my 6 month mark since I got the linguals. So far, it hasn't been too bad although the lisp comes back for a day or two after each adjustment. I've had only two instances of the bracket coming off - in fact, one came off yesterday. I've got it stuck to the next bracket with some Bra...

got 'em

ok, I ordered them on Monday and got the tubes by Wednesday! very quick shipping. I tried them out and they were a little messy and I think I used too much and it was a bit of a goopy mess. It never really hardened up completely and it kept moving around...especially the bottom front. In fact, it go...

brace-eze

London Lingual, I have a problem with the wax being difficult to take off since it gets stuck in the crevices of the braces. Is brace-eze easier to take off?

Covers for lingual braces?

I see Morgan bumpers and Comfort Covers for regular braces and I'm wondering if there is one for linguals. I don't want to use the messy wax to cover the top and bottom to make it easier to kiss. Anyone use a product that they like?

thanks.

bracket

My backet on my top front tooth came off the tooth but it's still on the arch wire. It's saturday and I can't get to my ortho's until monday at the earliest. I can't chew and would like to take the bracket off the wire. Anyone know how to do this?

STb update

Just came back from the ortho and got my upper linguals on! Took an hour and half to get just the uppers on! It was a bit tiring and to put on the upper molar brackets, they use this plastic piece to prevent your tongue from moving around. The tongue piece was so hard to leave on and I was practical...

STB update

I just got a call back from my ortho today. The Stb braces are finally coming in from France. It took about 2 months...a long time to wait! I'll be getting them on my teeth at the end of July (unfortunately my ortho will be away on vacation so I can't get it sooner.) I'll see how it goes in a couple...

STB lingual braces

For the lower, I'm wondering just how "invisible" the lingual braces will be. I'm hoping it'll show less than the ceramic. The cost difference for lingual for both top and bottom vs. lingual top and ceramic bottom for me was about $3000 (so 11,000 vs. 8,000.) But apparently vanity comes at...
