Also, at the appointment, I got impressions taken for a retainer. He said I'll get my braces taken off next month

Today at my appointment, my orthodontist cemented a wire behind a few of my bottom teeth. Does anyone know what this does?

I went to my orthodontist three weeks ago and he said I'll have to wear bands for a month or two, then I'll get retained. My next appointment's in two weeks, and I can't wait.

I had all my wisdom teeth pulled at the one year point. They were all below the gumline, and there was no pain. The only problem was the massive swelling.

I had an expander for 6 months, and wasn't even talking normally by the time it was taken out. But nobody really notices. The first couple of days are really hard, but you'll get used to it. Try reading some books out loud or something to get the hang of talking.

Mangoes are without a doubt the worst. They're bad even without braces.

Holy wow! I'm already at 19 months on the lowers, meaning I could have them off by December. That's insane... I remember walking into the office to get my braces like it happened this morning.

During my first week of braces, I jokingly got made fun of by friends. Ever since, however, I haven't heard a single thing from anyone. I only got asked questions about my braces by a friend once, but only because I mentioned that I was at the halfway pont. It's pretty weird.

No problem, and I don't think anyone noticed.

Also, you might want to brush the teeth that are being covered by the expander really good. When mine was being taken out, two of my teeth felt like they were going to go with it.

I had my palatal expander removed exactly one year ago. My orthodontist just pulled mine off and then cleaned the cement off my teeth.
