Gums repositioning????
I recently noticed that a couple of my lower front teeth have either moved down to where my gums now cover parts of my teeth that they didn't before. If that even makes sense? It's like some of my teeth have more of my gumline covering them and others look like they normally have. I'm kinda worried ...

I have ceramic on top and metal on bottom. I am completely happy with my decision. Most people don't even know I have braces unless I bring it up. I don't have to worry about staining because I always ask to have wire ties instead of clear ligs at each adjustment. Although I do have to be a little m...

I have experienced the same thing! I have had elastics for a month now and have noticed I tend to close my mouth on top of my tongue and have to consciously pull my tongue inside. I usually wake up feeling like I've knawled on my cheeks and tongue while I slept. I almost feel like my tongue is too b...

I've already started out with elastics after the first week of getting braces.... I was instructed to switch to three seperate top teeth(last 3) every eight hours which is attatched to my first premolar on bottom! I already have a straight arch on the bottom after just alittle over 2 weeks, although...

I have only been braced for a little over a week and have already started elastics this past Sunday. I had the same thought about them prior to using the elastics but truthfully they really aren't all that bad, even when I eat. I pretty much end up forgeting all about them until I realize its time t...

Well I went to the ortho today and he just sanded down the bracket just slightly and it made a little difference. I might ask him to sand it alittle more when I go in for my first adjustment. Hopefully there will be some movement to correct the problem soon. Overall I haven't had any pain or sorenes...

Biting a Bracket!
Has anyone experienced this....I've finally realized why it hurts so much to chew! My teeth are no longer sore except for my upper right molar and while looking at my mouth today I noticed the bottom bracket on the molar is right at the border of the top of the tooth causing me to bite it when my ja...

The waterpik is a must with braces. Its amazing how much gunk gets stuck in the back braces...yuck. Is it normal to not be able to floss in the very beginning. Its almost a week since I got braces and I tried it on day 3 and could only do the front top/bottom before I gave up....my teeth were scream...

Well I just got braced today and my ortho gave me elastics to start once I feel comfortable with having the braces. He said to start them in two weeks but I just might start them on Sunday if all feels well. Seems really early, but I guess I'd rather get some progress right away. I have to switch th...

Well its officially my first day in braces. I can say I didn't have any complaints about the whole process this morning....all went well. Although tonight I have had off and on discomfort, and if it weren't for them being permanent I can definately say I would be taking them in and out for some reli...

Thanks for your input...I've already been whitening off and on for about a week, so I'll just ask my dentist when I go in for my cleaning what he thinks. I can't do the whitening twice a day like it says since my teeth become so sensitive it hurts to breathe. I just wanted pretty white teeth to at l...

Whitening Teeth???
Hi...new here! I was just wondering if whitening your teeth before getting braces is a good idea? Just hoping my teeth are not going to be way too sensitive but want my teeth nice and white for my sapphire braces.
