Thanks so much for your positive replies guys. I've kinda realised I DO like my new teeth, I just wish I wasn't so much of a perfectionist. My advice to everyone is be patient and don't allow your braces to come off unless you are 100% happy with the results!!

GOOD LUCK & best wishes to all.x

FINALLY DONE!! - But should I be disappointed?? - PICS

Hey guys!! After a long 9 months my braces are off, I'm relieved to be free and I'm fairly happy with the results. Perhaps I'm nit-picking but I can't help wishing that I could've had more IPR done on the upper arch to make the front teeth completely straight and reduce my overjet(which doesn't show...

Brushing theories

Hi guys, generally speaking when is the best time to brush your teeth? I've always assumed that if you eat or drink something sweet it's best that you brush straight away, but I've heard from others that this can actually harm teeth as the sugar slightly softens the enamel and you therefore end up b...

i've had it done for the past 2 visits and i'm glad because the results are good. It doesn't hurt, at least no more than any of the other poking and wiggling that the ortho does!! It's fine so try not to worry.

yeah that's normal, I had gaps appearing also, even between my front teeth. It's cos the first stage of the process involves generally pushing teeth out a little, and they do tend to flare. Your powerchains will close the gaps quickly and then the teeth can be accurately positioned.

Gennel, those results are amazing, and SO quick. Those are some of the most impressive progress pics i've ever seen!! Looks like your ortho's judged it just right. Now things will slow down for the rest of your duration but you can look forward to having a fantastic end result I reckon. Well done.

6 MONTH PROGRESS PICS!!!!

Hi guys!! It's that time again, thought I'd update you on another 3 months' progress, though things aren't really changing that much! The gap on my lowers has closed up now and i'll have that bottom tooth reshaped come Naked-time. I'm on nightly elastics to try to pull my front uppers back in again ...

Big changes there!! They've really straightened up, looks like you're nearly finished already!!! I found my best progress was early on aswell, it's sometimes the final movements that take the most time.

mbrooksay, you need to talk to your ortho because there are solutions. I had the same problem and my ortho built up some composite (bite blocks) on 2 of my molars so I couldn't close my mouth all the way. So you have reduced chewing ability but you don't have to worry about the pain of clattering yo...

Gennel, dunno about inwards but my upper 2nd molars especially tilt outwards quite a bit. These are the teeth that are not bracketed and hence I think it might be to do with my braces because I'm sure they weren't this bad before my treatment. They don't affect my bite or anything so I haven't menti...

Yep, reckon the gap is nothing to worry about. I developed 2 small gaps in my uppers but as soon as my Ortho put a powerchain on the gaps closed up. Get this; my gaps had completely closed by the time I had even arrived back at my car!!! Honest!! I looked in the rearview mirror and my teeth looked a...
