i too have had this experience but only with doctors... It was very unproffessional and i would make an appointment to see the dentist and then make a complaint. The ortho said that my options were ceramic or metal and no more. she said the ceramic wouldnt be suitable for the amount of movement i need....so she fitted metal brackets (which I now know from the this site they are the self ligating typ...

Hi, sorry to hear thats going to slow things down!

I had two top and two bottom molars removed before getting the braces and I was incredible nervous but i have to say, it was absolutely fine.
I felt nothing at all!

The braces are much more painful than the extractions! you'll be fine.

There are words for people like that! And I think you nailed it on the head!

The ortho and Assistant told me that adults feel the pain much more than children and that in general have a rougher time with it.

she'll pick the wrong person to pick on one day....
