It is really different for everyone. I think I took a while to get feeling back but I can't pinpoint a time frame. Just be careful how hard you brush...I got a lot of a burning/tingling sensation when it was coming back. You'd probably like it to stay numb a little longer, until things heal more. Th...

Brandy, I am so glad you are doing well after your surgery! I told you it wasn't so bad. The swelling sucks and it feels like it will never go away. I am sorry about the powerchain causing you issues. To me having one seems counter productive but...I am not the ortho. I believe that you only have to...

I had an expander put in at my original ortho (long before I actually ended up having the SARPE) and I was in so much pain! I had to have it taken out because it wasn't going to work for me. My expander looked like a hawley retainer...because of the way it fit in the roof of my mouth. The ortho was ...

I was originally told I was going to have a 24 month treatment plan (Not counting the treatment I had before I moved to a new state). That meant my braces would come off in June...being a total glass half empty girl, I was planning on the coming of in November...they are actually coming off EARLY!!!...

BraceFace15...as a kid I always hated my teeth and I was so embarrassed of them. If you look at any pic from when I was a kid you can see just how uncomfortable I was. I never smiled showing my teeth and I was so uncomfortable even eating around people. At 25 I decided to get braces and I never look...

I think you look great! Gorgeous! I think any change is going to bother you at first. If anything, I think you almost look to flat in the first pic. Also, the brackets alone are going to make your lips stick out a little more. Especially if you have ceramics...they are bigger that metal. Things are ...

I think that is really what most people with ceramic actually get. That is what I have, my front 6 are ceramic. I have metal on the bottom. I had all metal for about 4 mos and then moved out of state. The new ortho wanted to start all over and I then chose to go with ceramic which I love. I thought ...

I don't mean to sound dumb but for those of you who have to wear the expander for such larger peiods of time, why don't you just have the surgery? The results are better and are lasting. You don't have to worry about relapse and you don't have to wear the torture device for more that 3-4 months. I d...
