Fiberotomy
My orthodontist told me that after my treatment, he will perform a fiberotomy, which basically cuts through the gingival fibers around a tooth to prevent them from rotating back to their crooked positions. It sounds scary, and I haven't seen other other posts about it. I was wondering if anyone has ...

smile!
I had two friends who had braces and one always smiled with her mouth closed, but her mouth always looked really tightly pursed and strained, while the other would smile this big grin. Just from these two, I think I'll just relax and smile naturally.

me too
It's happened to me too, a few hours after I got braces for the first time, a lower bracket came off when I was attempting to eat. It turned out it was sticking out a bit compared to the other lowers, and my top teeth knocked it out.
No worries.

it's coming along
Hey friends, I just wanted to include a few pictures on my progress. I posted a couple of months ago about how slow i felt my teeth were moving compared to other damon3 wearers. I went for my second adjustment recently, and the orthodontist moved me up to a rectangular wire. Yay! this time, I defini...

yup
I have that problem too, and I'm always worried that if the bracket keeps hitting my upper teeth that it'll eventually wear away at the enamel. Has that been a problem for anyone? My orthodontist put "lifters" on my molars (aka cement) so that i'd still have some chewing surface, but I def...

Thanks!
Hey JoeMama,
thanks for the pictures! It really just helps a lot to see someone else in a similar situation further along than me.
Good luck, and I'll keep waiting.

Sorry, I didn't specify that the 2nd picture of the teeth is actually of my upper arch.
but yeah, the rotation is a little discouraging, but I'll keep hoping!

So, just to illustrate some of my concerns with my teeth, and to show my progress so far, here are some pictures. http://img439.imageshack.us/img439/5947/p1010299nw0.th.jpg You can see the crowding, and the rotated front teeth in that picture. It'd seem that braces would cause a notable change in a ...

Weird
That's really odd, my orthodontist told me the exact opposite. He said the thin wire is supposed to widen my arch, and then heavier wires do the rest.
This makes me more nervous that he still isn't very familiar with Damons yet.
