Re: how often to replace retainers?
I actually have both kinds. I've been wearing the essix ones more, as I feel like the wire on hawley needs some adjusting.

how often to replace retainers?
Just wondering how often retainers need to be replaced? Mine is looking like it has seen better days. It seems to still be working, it is super tight when I put it in, and my teeth are still sore in the morning like that have always been...it just starting to look pretty beat up. What's the average ...

Re: Retainers in... freaking out... my rant... ?!
Totally normal for your teeth to feel wobbly, and your bite to feel off. It gets better omce the teeth start to settle a bit, but totally weird until then. I had to wear my retainers 24/7 for about 6 months, then only at night after the six months. Try not to freak out too much and enjoy that beauti...

Re: is my lower hawley bow too high?
Thanks for looking. I felt like they didn't feel/look quite right, but I wasn't totally sure as I'm used to my old essix retainers. I'll be sure to ask my dentist to look at it and/or refer me somewhere to get it adjusted when I go in next month. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again

is my lower hawley bow too high?---x-post
Hi everyone, I have been out of braces for about 3 years now. I have worn essix type retainers since debanding, but also have a back up set of Hawleys that I've not worn much. My essix retainers are now getting to the point where they're pretty beat up and are ready to be retired. I pulled out my ha...

How should a retainer properly fit?
I just went from an upper essix retainer to an upper hawley retainer (I am currently only in night time wear). I was used to the essix fitting really snug over my teeth. When I put the Hawley in it feels a bit loose, and there is a small gap at the roof of my mouth and the retainer. After wearing it...

Hi everyone, I'm trying to get more info about the IA before I decide to jump in. A little info on me, I had braces previously (they've been off for about a year and a half). After a ton of dental work (crowns, fillings) my retainers no longer fit properly, leading to some relapse in my lower front ...

Inman Aligners---few questions
I had braces about a year and a half ago. After a ton of dental work (crowns, fillings) my retainers no longer fit properly, leading to some relapse in my lower front teeth. I am interested in going with the Inman Aligners to correct the relapse. My first question is what is the average cost of an I...

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to make a few appointments with different orthos today. It is just disheartening because I thought I had a treatment plan that made sense, and that I had finally gotten comfortable with and then suddenly to have a new new ortho come and pull the rug right out fr...
