I've made it through week one - and that included a 4 day trip up to New York. The steakhouse dinner was a challenge as expected - taking very small bites was the key. I used wax on the lower braces for about 4 days - the underside of my tongue is a lot more sensitive than the upper part. I guess I ...

You will like them - they really are invisible. I prefer having the lingual brackets to the labial ceramics I had previously. My cheeks were more sensitive to the bulky ceramics than my tongue is to the metal lingual brackets, and it is much easier to put wax on the linguals because they are hidded ...

Well, it's day 2 and so far so good. I have stuck with a soft diet (my teeth are sore if I try to chew), but my tongue is ok. I have put wax on my lower braces after rinsing with peroxyl wash (a hydrogen peroxide solution) and seeing one or two white areas under my tongue (can't feel them though). M...

I have linguals on the upper and lower - only got them yesterday so too soon to give you any good advice except to say it is much better than I expected. No real discomfort at all yet. Teeth are a bit achy, but that is to be expected no matter what type of braces you have. So far I prefer the lingua...

Upper invisalign lower ceramics to upper and lower linguals
Well, after posting about my bad experience with invisalign on the other board (3 years of treatment left me with uneven teeth vertically, an open bite, cross bite and a 6mm overjet!!), I had my lingual braces fitted today. So far so good - it has only been a few hours. They are really comfortable (...

Goodluck Ria. Invisalign is easy to get used to. Read aloud to get your speech back to normal quickly. As diehard says I would put new trays in at night so that you can go a full 12 hours without removing them for the first time. I used to take 2 advil as well, and would normally wake up without too...

unhappy ending
I started my orthodontic treatment 3 years ago. I had slight overjet, slight crowding on the top with one rotated incisor. On the lower jaw I had 2 gaps in my back teeth (one on each side) - not visible under normal circumstances. Orthodontist suggested invisalign on the top and ceramic braces on th...
