The cheapest and easiet way is to soak it in water with a ton of baking soda in it. Some people buy that Denture stuff, too, can't remember the name of it.

I think everyone is reading way to much into the original post as well. Lighten up, already, flower children! I believe that anyone who has their smile improved will simply smile more. The more you smile, the happier you become (weird but true), and it give you a better general outlook. My teeth are...

It doesn't seem likely that it would have shifted so soon, I would ask for a second opinion. You paid so much money, you waited so long, and your bite is messed up? Hard to believe, if the ortho did his job.

I love my Sonicare. I've had it for two years, and never had a problem. I think the main thing is to buy one, if for nothing else but the timer feature. It seems like 2 minutes is forever to brush your teeth, without the timer, I think I would brush about 30 seconds.

I use Lysterine Whitening mouthwash, it's just a mild peroxide rinse that seems to keep my teeth white since I've had braces.

I didn't have any problem at all with sushi, but almost chocked on the miso soup with a bit of spinach. I found that using a whole grain tortilla on my wraps keep them from mucking up the braces as much (better for you, too).

My ortho explained that they don't typically to clear on the bottom because the ceramic has clear sapphire in it and is so hard that your top teeth will actually chip off when they hit the bottom brackets. He showed me several pictures and it convinced me that I was totally cool with the metal on th...

I've noticed in general that when older women (I'm 49) have been in braces (all kinds) a bit, or just got out of them, they look younger. Tighter of jaw, less of a double chin, a bit of lift to the cheek. I always thought it was a combination of a widening palate, and probably eating less because of...

The tech at my ortho is 40 or so, she had to be rebraced at 35 because she had been advised (like most people were back in the day) to wear the retainer for a year, then get rid of it. She said she had a Hawley initially, but went to an Essix and prefers it. I know when I had Essix-like bleaching te...

I had clear plastic molds done for teeth brightening, which my orthos said is just like an Essix. I cleaned those by soaking them in warm water with a ton of backing soda, and it cleaned the gunk off really well. It's gentle, and certainly won't hurt them.

Drewjb007, get I AM A SPAMMER!!!!! Hockey for your X-Box 360, even if you don't like hockey normally. My boy (he's 21) loves it, and I don't think he ever watched a game in his life, except when I would drag him to the Avalanche games in person. Good luck with your progress, life is a never-ending s...

Welcome skittley80! I'm fairly new here too, and just got my braces about 3 weeks ago. Ceramic uppers and metal below, just as you have. I never worried about what my friends or family thought one way or the other, but it was interesting to get the reactions. I went home to Colorado last week, and m...

I saw my ex-husband last week, he was seeing me in braces for the first time. He said to not do what his current wife did, she got her braces off last year (odd coincidence, her birthday is also the day before mine  ), and would go several days without wearing her retainer. Then when she would...
