Hi there! My "Currie Issue" is solved. I went to the Ortho last Thursday for my first adjustment and I got a new wire on my upper brackets (a stronger one) which has been put in with "hard ligatures", thus wires around the brackets. The same happened to my lower brackets (same wi...

Curries

Hi there! So I managed to keep my clear ligatures all nice and unstained for 2,5 weeks and what did I do? Cook a curry yesterday! I really thought "well, just ONCE can't be that bad" and it tasted just great, and I sipped lots of water inbetween to get the curry away really quick.... After...

Hi Karen! Thanks for your quick feedback - actually that is a great relief, I thought I was just too scared than I should! Chewing at the back is really great - especially as you can avoid to have food stuck inbetween the front brackets in doing so :-) THANKS a lot - this forum is really really grea...

Thanks to Karen's great tip of chewing at the back of the mouth, I am back at the Salad Bar (I avoided it for the first couple of days). I tried salad at home and found that it was quite alright. However, today I had some seeds and sprouts inbetween - they were really giving me a tough time!

Can you bite?

Hi there! As you might know, I have my braces on for about 2 weeks now. So far, everything is fine -no real pain, my teeth just feel a little tight. Although I realized that eating gets easier (chewing at the back of the mouth, as suggested by Karen - thanks for that!!! great hint) biting something ...

Hi Paws! I hope that today is a better day for you again! Believe me I can feel with you! Also when it comes to this "slurring" when speaking and the folding of the lips...same here! I got my braces about 2 weeks ago and my speaking is getting better. The thing about the lips just happens ...

I have upper and lower ceramics, total cost of my treatment will be around 5000 EUR, however the extra charge for ceramics is just 12,50€ per bracket (x28 in my case) so pretty reasonable. All my friends keep telling me how discreet my braces are and that you really hardly see them.......So that m...

Hi again! After nearly one week, I am still fine - no pain whatsoever so far. Only an odd wire here and there that poked me but other than that - nothing - *touch-wood* I guess my dentists appointment tonight to get the filling done is worse than the whole braces...I just can't stand fillings....! A...

Hi there!!! Please DO NOT WORRY! This is my second time in braces and what I heard was that it would hurt much worse as an adult (I had braces as a kid and I still remember that it always hurt after an adjustment). So I got my braces last Thursday and was expecting some kind of pain - and....NOTHING...
