Actually my Ortho does not give me the chance to chose - he's only using those clear ligs.....and that's why I am really paranoid about coffee & red wine now (have read your experiences with these clear ones already)

Anyways, I am getting wire ligatures soon anyway :?

BRILLIANT!!! Thanks a lot - actually I will take a copy of this thread and adopt some of your routines - they really sound very reasonable and more than helpful! Since I got my braces, some parts of my gums are REALLY sensitive, just like the feeling if you touch the neck of a tooth which is lying i...

Hi there! You are BRILLIANT! Thanks for the speedy feedback!!!! I brush about 3 - 5 times a day and was just not sure if that was fine or not. Due to lazyness I reduced my meals to 3 fixed meals anyway ;-) And I will definitely do this salt water rinse you suggested, Karen! Thanks a million!!!!!!!

How often do you brush?

As you might know, I had my braces put on last Thursday. And as I already thought, I am really getting paranoid about tooth decay etc so my feeling is that I should brush right away, even if I just had something like a little ice cream or milk shake. Now a colleague of mine hinted that it might not ...

Hi Mmmmuuaa! And welcome to this board! What kind of splint will you get? I only have experiences with loose upper braces that were intended to widen the palate. These upper braces had a screw build in that I had to widen every week - that was not too bad and not painful at all. Do you know already ...

Hi Elleann, My ortho predicted treatment time of about 9 months, if I am lucky 6 months. After that I will have to get those fixed retainers forever, otherwise my teeth will just move again.... This is the second time in my life that I am wearing braces - had the first when I was a teenage girl, tha...

Hi Lisa! I just wanted to say: don't worry to much! You will be fine!!! My experience was that sitting there and holding the mouth open was the most exhausting part - the rest really isn't t that bad, it's rather boring to be honest. I got my upper and lower ceramics yesterday and it's just a weird ...

Hi Pippy!

Great photo!!!

I am very cautious with solid food, too - just had soups and milk shakes so far and LOTS of Water to drink right after :-))

At least, my diet is now FULL of calcium and water and I guess that's good for the body AND for the teeth :-)

Sunny greetings - Bridget

It's done - I am officially a wired member now :-) UPDATED

Hi there! It's done - I'm wired now. This is me before it happened: http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/4674/vorher13de.th.jpg I got my upper and lower ceramics yesterday morning - after having spent 3 hours more or less "upside down" in the ortho's chair! Unfortunately not the whole job is...

Hi there!! I sympathise with you!!!! Am feeling hungry, too - I got mine on yesterday also and since then have been feeding myself on either liquid or really soft thinks (mainly milk drinks and mashed potatoes) But I guess this will be getting better within the next few days!!! So good luck with you...

Hi there! Good to hear that things are great at your end!

I guess after all I heard I will just ban spinach and long spaghettis from my diet ;-) and add some ice cream and milk shakes instead!

I'll be back tomorrow with some before and after pics :-)
