yes, one of my later thoughts as well was that perhaps i have run into some irritated/irate parents who do have irresponsible children and they are judging me to be the same and venting at me? although it is one thing to make these assumptions about people, it is another thing to actually share them...

i don't know if any one else has experienced this. over the course of the past month i've had braces, several times now (including twice late this week) complete total strangers have come up to me to try to give me a lecture regarding my braces. they have all assumed that this is braces round number...

soy milk bases smoothies would be a non-dairy option.

if you don't like soy milk i would encourage trying rice milk (some ppl like it a lot better...and often it can be bought fortified)

i waited a month and a half to get the intial consult (apparently i had called at a busy time, "pre-camp season") and they did the molds the same day. i got the braces on less than two weeks later though (i wasn't expecting it to occur so fast).

i get severe migraines (but now am on preventative meds that seem to be doing wonders...it only took trying 5 types ).

one thing that hasn't been mentioned is stress being a migraine trigger. i could see something maybe happening if someone found dealing with their braces or ortho stressful?

i got my braces put on july 12th 2006. so i am pretty new myself. no elastics or mention of them yet. personally i think my speech has been pretty fine from the start with braces on ...now if i have the 'whatever that thing is in the top of my mouth' plate/appliance in i do notice a big difference. ...

i think i mentioned this before but if you are making your own curry, just don't put the tumeric in. you won't get yellow and it still tastes yummy.

i just wanted to add that if you are making your own, you can make for example, curried lentils without the tumeric. i think it tastes just as good and it doesn't stain

i got my braces on on july 12th. i'm still not eating that many solids yet due to pain but have finally progressed to overcooked pasta

i think i've had better luck with mouthwash than salt water rinses if that's helpful
