I can only comment on the Aussie prices....mine worked out at $250 for wisdom teeth and $150 each for the premolars - all done under general anaesthetic so I can't offer any advice there......I was sucha chicken I needed the gas just so they could get the IV in!! $225 for premolars sure sounds a lot!!

I wanted ceramics top and bottom so called my ortho a few days before just to confirm. When I arrived for my appointment all the brackets were already lined up ready to go on..all organised based on which ones were getting elastics later etc........so clearly they planned ahead. I would definitely b...

Hi there, I know what you mean about the car still going after it stops!! very very unpleasant. I hadn't even thought of it being related to the braces, even though it has only started doing that since. I have had a problem with things like that in the past (when walking along I would just fall over...

Hi Bunsen, sorry things aren't workng out how you would like....had to laugh though to see another person refer to the horse head look, I thought it was just me. I used to have a little roundy face and craved cheekbones, now after only 4 months with braces the entire shape of my face has changed and...

I got a cordless one sent over from the US as I was fed up fishing food out of the brackets and I absolutely love it. The power in it is just fine for getting all the gribblies out but not hurting anything. It was holding its charge well but my unbraced husband has now developed such an affection fo...

Hi toneten, I wimped out of braces for the past 16 years purely out of terror of extractions! And that was only the bicuspids!! So believe me I know where you are at. A few months ago I noticed a wisdom tooth come through and create more hassles so went for a consult. In the end I had to get all 4 w...

Hi Saki I've had mine for about 4 months now - ceramics top and bottom. I originally went with them because I am quite shy and selfconscious, plus I teach for a living!! While they have been great, if I were going to do it all again tomorrow I don't think I would be so adamant about them and would j...

I'm a uni lecturer in braces myself - and if I'd made a comment like that in error I would be mortified. Sometimes in the flow of a lecture we can slip a comment in that, if we sat down and totally analysed it for correctness and whether it would offend anyone at all, we wouldn't say again on reflec...

Hi i know exactly what you mean!! I got mine 13 weeks ago and was horrified when I saw them on as I had only seen them on straight teeth and sort of expectde this inconspicuous little wire not the deranged origami I ended up with!! Plus people who never noticed my teeth were crooke before were now d...

I only had spacers for a week and there was definitely enough room. The bands are a bit annoying going on...mainly because they try a few different sizes and your teeth will feel a bit odd once the spacers come out...so you don't ideally want someone fiddling around there too much. But it doesn't ta...

Sorry you are having a rough time of it.....I have the sticky out and in thing happening....laterals on top and bottom hiding behind other teeth and some fairly fangy canines and front teeth sticking out. I've had the springs for two months and on the bottom its worked well and the shy one has been ...

Adjust 2 update with pics
So a gentle reminder of where we were at 13 weeks ago.......yucky springs  http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/8434/bracesday3xx0.jpg And today, no springs and slightly straighter teeth. Apologies for apparent hiding of bottom teeth, self photography wasn't my strong point today!! But you can k...

Adjustment 2 - no pics yet
Just back from adjustment two.........early Christmas present...he took the springs out!! I had them to make space for laterals on top and bottom. The bottom had enough space to get connected to the archwire today so that was exciting but I didn't realise he also got rid of the top spring. Not...
