Hi I am up to week 12 now and for the first two months really didn't eat much at all - it was too difficult apart from the squashy stuff. I have to say in the past two weeks it has been almost normal in terms of eating - have been hooking into pizza and salad (what a MESS!!), proper roast dinners an...

I have ceramics top and bootom - originally my ortho wanted to do metal bottoms and they were a little hesitatn about doing ceramics. When I asked for them though they were fine with it, just hey don't do it often. Their concern was for additional rubbing on the bottom due to size of bracket.....so ...

I have Clarity on top and bottom with a couple of metal brackets in inconspicuous places. No complaints really about the ceramics - I do find if I have to talk a lot they can rub a little more than the metal ones I've got...prob coz they are a little bigger so stick out more.

Don't have elastics yet but I seem to be clenching my teeth in my sleep and am waking up with a really stiff and sore neck - today for example it won't turn right which makes driving interesting. Not sure either if it is coincidence as my spine is clinically screwed .......have been out of action fo...

Good luck with it - I'm sure it will go fine! I had 8 extractions before my braces and it was so much easier than I expected!! Especially the bicuspids - they didn't hurt or bleed at all afterwards. They were only sore if I accidentally whacked them with the toothbrush while trying to get at the oth...

Yep I have two shy ones that currently have brackets but not attached to wire. I have springs attached to the teeth either side of the reluctant teeth to make room to pull them through. Already there is almost enough room for the bottom one to get attached soon. Top lateral still looks a long way of...

Both my parents had perfect teeth and bites but didn't hold onto them all that long. They were both born in the 30s and as far as I remember Mom had some dentures from her late 30s/early 40s onwards and all dentures from about 60. Dad hung out a bit longer with straggly remains but went to dentures ...

My ortho so far has done everything himself - assistant has things ready for him but he changes the ligs, twiddles the archwire etc etc. Not sure it makes a difference though - I've still had to go back a few times coz he has left bits of wire poking out that I impale myself on - would be happy with...

So lots of red wine, spaghetti, choccy, coffee and tea...ligs were a bit yucky when I got them changed but not so much that anyone else would notice. Had them changed to silver ...

AS another one of the introverts on the board (but one who posts piccies lol) I know where you are coming from!! The ortho pictures nearly made me cry and I have had to really develop a sense of humour about how they look now with all their blue bits and springs. I have posted them for a couple of r...
