wearing aligners for 3 weeks each aligner
Hi - Yup - I have definitely read posts on the invisalign forum about orthodontists who want their patient to wear each aligner for 3 weeks. It goes a bit more slowly, obviously, but when you change to a new aligner, it is less painful (because you are moving the teeth more slowly). There is more ri...

I didn't see my clincheck either at first
My ortho didn't offer to show me my clincheck either, and the only reason I got to see it finally was because I learned that other invisalign patients (on this web-site, not with my ortho) got to look at theirs ... and of course I was curious. My ortho's office told me they no longer had it on file,...

length of time with attachments
I got my attachments after the first 2 aligners, then kept them for the duration of treatment (22 bottom arch, 18 top). I had 8 attachments and hated them ... They were on the 2 teeth just back from the canine teeth both upper and lower arches, both sides if that makes any sense. But oddly, no one e...

Invisalign retainers are really new, since Dec. 07
here's some info I found on the web about the new Invisalign retainers: "An Invisalign retainer fits and looks like a regular aligner, however, it's much more durable and lasts longer. In fact, it's about five times more durable than commercially available thermoplastic retainers. It has to be ...

has anybody used invisalign retainers? what do you think?
I finished with Invisalign Summer '07 after 14 months of treatment, then had a front permanent bridge replaced, a veneer added to a canine, and finally have a very nice smile. It took almost 2 years, all told, to get everything just right. But I am soooo happy!! I went to an orthodontist and a speci...

Wait to get aligners
It will be just over 8 weeks to get additional aligners for a "refinement." I already completed 14 lower/17 upper aligners in late January. But my two front incisors on the lower arch bump into the top two incisors (this wasn't the case before starting with Invisalign. So I have to chew ca...

chewies are a bit addictive ...
Nanny, Even though you are in Germany, your ortho should be able to get these chewies for you! I like to use them just for a few minutes after meals - I mean, after cleaning my teeth after a meal, then putting the aligners back in. Chewing on the chewie for a few minutes makes the aligners feel less...

wait to get aligners
That's great Jeni about getting your aligners in 6 weeks! I don't blame you for waiting 'til you are past the CPA exam and extra work you might have. Good luck with that! It helped me to kind of "lie low" socially and at work for the first 2-3 weeks with Invisalign. As you get used to it, ...

how long is it really taking to get aligners back?
Hi everyone. I am waiting 5 weeks now to get more aligners for a "refinement" or whatever they call it. I already finished 14 bottom/17 top aligners, but my back teeth don't come together well because the front 2 teeth on the bottom (central incisors on bottom) bump into my top 2 central i...

aligner chewies
Yes, my ortho recommends I use them 1 hr a day. But she only gives me about 4-5 at a time. So I have to stop back by the office and ask for more. I feel they help settle the aligners well on my teeth. I also feel they help get out my frustration at wearing these stupid aligners! But the way she dole...

just a front view of my future teeth, not terribly helpful
Yes, I don't understand why different ortho's handle this so differently. I had to request to see my Clincheck several times, and my ortho's assistant acted like it was a huge favor to show it to me. I asked for a print-out, and she gave me 2 pages, one of my teeth before treatment, and one of the f...

no liners in a hot parked car
For the same reason you wouldn't leave your child or pet in a hot car! The liners can melt slightly out of shape, according to my orthodontist. I haven't tested it, but I wouldn't want to find out if they do melt at 110 degrees or more ...

No mention of red white blue/comment about future for ALGN
That is a good question about the red white & blue system (or whatever the correct name is) - however in all the articles on the 'web that I've read about this patent litigation and recent settlement between Invisalign and Orthoclear, I haven't seen any mention of r/w/b, so I have no idea how th...

Invisalign settles with Orthoclear. Link to story 9-28-06
I follow ALGN stock (Align Technology makes Invisalign) and the price popped up today on very heavy volume because Invisalign settled its ongoing court battles with Orthoclear. Here is a link to the story that sums it up. Go Invisalign! http://yahoo.smartmoney.com/onedaywonder/index.cfm?story=200609...

love that expansion
Thanks, diehard, for that link. The photos are great & really show both the arch expansion and how the gap closed up for that lady.
I always think that gap is cute, but I know those who have it don't like it -
