For me, it was my top teeth. I think though this was because my top teeth needed to move alot more than my bottoms did. I had a gap in my front tooth and so when they put the bands around each bracket, that really hurt. I was probably miserable for about 2 months with my braces. My whole mouth hurt,...

Thanks everyone. I appreciate your well wishes. And as for my comments regarding pervs, well--they seem to come out of the wood work. I don't get it. Anyway, thats another blog for another day..LOL. Oh and I did tell the ortho that I was uncomfortable. There was really no way I wasn't going to be. E...

I just got my bonded retainer in yesterday. You only have to thread it through one tooth and then you can work your way around the others without having to thread them through each tooth. It's really not hard at all. It sure beats working them around braces. I still have yet to get my upper retainer...

Braces removed today!!!

I got my braces removed today. I'm so happy it is over with. I have to say though that it was not a pleasant experience, especially since I'm about to have a baby. Leaning back in a chair felt like I was suffocating and the impressions were the worst. I guess, no pain--no gain. Anyway, you can view ...

Actually, my daughter ate some toothpaste and we called poison control. Poison control told us she'd have to eat the whole entire tube of toothpaste for it actually to be bad. So having said that, I don't think you are using too much flouride. I know alot of cities put flouride in their drinking wat...

Hey Thanks everyone for the advice. Atleast it only takes a few minutes...and then I'm done. I can't wait to get these suckers off. I look forward to eating a big fat cheeseburger and not getting stuff stuck in my braces...LOL. And for a brief moment, I'll not look like a pregnant teenager..LOL. Tha...

I know last time I was sitting up and taking deep breaths. This is the only thing that got me through it. I did gag a few times and thought I was going to hurl, but after I got over the initial gag feeling, I was able to breath through it. I guess those breathing exercises were worth something after...

I'm braced and due to give birth Aug 26th. I have to say the one thing I absolutely hate about having braces and being pregnant is when they make me lie back in that chair which is such torture when you are as far along as I am. Basically, I can't breath and I get all sweaty and it just sucks. But I...

Good news!

I'm getting my braces off in 3 weeks--August 15th! I'm also pregnant and due the 26th, so hopefully I don't go early (never thought I'd say that!). Anyway, I was reading some of the stories about getting the braces off. I do have one question regarding removal. Are the impressions done after your br...

Wire popped out 2 times in 2 weeks!

I am supposed to get my braces off in 1-2 months. Recently, they put in a thin wire that is supposed to replicate my real bite--basically its not the same wire they used at the beginning of my treatment which is much thicker wire. Anyway, last time they put the same wire (the thin one) in my mouth, ...
