for me, all up just over $8000 (AU) thats including everything intial ortho consultation hospital fee (to get wisdom teeth taken out) surgeon fee anaesthethic fee braces all my ortho appointments my retainer afterwards um, can't think of anything else right now, think thats it! if not i'll add them ...

i was also told by my orthodontist that i have a tongue thrust! i was unaware of this, but yeah, like someone else said, when you swallow, you push your tongue against the back of your top teeth! and this is why my front teeth have been pushed forward over time and my overbite being much worse.

about an hour after getting braced i had fried rice at the local shopping centre - bad move. lol. rice was lodged everywhere.

the first week or so my teeth and mouth were till very painful and i found it very hard to bite down on food. so i was having lots and lots of soup and jelly!

hang in there user! i'm sure many of us were like you at the beginning of our journey (i know i was) but you soon get used to them! i was suprised as well that no one really commented on my new metal mouth hehe i always found myself saying "look i got braces!!" and everyone just being like...
