Your treatment proposal sounds like its good for your situation. I just started my treatment a couple of months ago and have had just one upper premolar out on the left side. Before I agreed to the treatment I was worried as it didn't sound right at all. In the end I booked an extra consultation to ...

It doesn't seem to be standard practice to take them out for ortho treatment. In cases where you are having premolars out to create some space I don't think they're that botherd unless they are causing other problems like infection due to being hard to clean. I've just started orthodontic treatment ...

Hi Katiari This is normal. I was like that for 2 weeks, some people have it for longer, some for less. It slowly gets better though so hold in there. During my first week I sometimes woke myself up in my sleep with the pain when my teeth hit together. Are you taking the painkillers, as that does eas...

Hi Newmetal You are in London like me. I think most of them will only estimate the time you'll be in active treatment. Mine said 12-18 months for my treatment. I also had to to sign a contract saying the teeth might not end up exactly as expected. I think they are just trying to give you realistic e...

Luna's orthodontic saga

Hello everybody. This site is great. I only wish the internet and this site had been around in the early nineties when I had my first orthodontic treatment. This turned out to be one of the most horrible experiences I’ve ever had. I had a large overjet which made me very self conscious throughout ...

I noticed this on my lower incisors too, and was at first a bit alarmed before I realised what it was. I think the hygienist can remove these in the normal way. The brace doesnt make any difference to them when cleaning in area thats not covered by the brace.

It could be the excess glue that has stained rather than the teeth themselves. My ortho warned me about this when he fitted my brackets and said he would remove any excess glue that he couldn't see now at the next appointment. He said the excess glue will always go yellow very quickly. They can just...

Thanks everyone. It is very reassuring to know that I'm not the only who has this worry. Obviously everyone has different levels of sensivitiy and anxiety which is related to this. I did tell the ortho about my worries at the last adjustment. He had assumed I was in pain when I was making so much no...

Ortho adjustments very traumatic

Hello This is my first posting on the site. I started orthodontic treatment a few months ago. I had been very worried as I had treatment in my teens over 12 years ago and found it very unpleasant and I was disatisfied with the result. This time around I have more faith in the ortho, but like before ...
