I took horrific to mean what it means "grossly offensive to decency or morality; causing horror; "subjected to outrageous cruelty"; "a hideous pattern of injustice"; "horrific conditions in the mining industry" [syn: hideous]" Melodramitic means: exaggerated ...

Lettuce doesn't get caught in my braces, but I certainly have difficulty eating it with braces. So I order foods without it now and don't have salads anymore, which I used to love. Rice is not a problem for me at all. It's one of the easiest things for me to east and clean for.

srobert88, If you're interpreting my use of the term horrific as horror in the form of terror or life-threatening then yes I was being melodramatic. Although any reasonable adult would understand that I didn't use the term horrific in that sense. So your comment about leading a sheltered life certai...

Sorry to hear about your problems with the doors. This is the first I had heard of such problems. I have the Damon braces as well and have gone through 2 adjustments without any difficulties at all. Maybe things will get better for you from now on.

Very sadly for me I lost about 8 lbs after having braces for a few weeks. Considering I was already a very thin 136 lbs, I certainly didn't want to lose any weight. After about 3 months, I am finally creeping back up, but still need to gain some more to get back where I was. I'm not exactly your nor...

Fortunately, my ortho was kind enough to just keep my invisalign payment plan and not charge additional for the braces. Unfortunately, I end up paying a lot more for what should have been much less expensive. However, I can live with that.

What problems did you have with invisilign? That is awesome that you feel comfortable and happy with your decision. I know invisilign works but I think the adjustments are like every 2 weeks? My neighbor has retainers that are basically invisilign style except these are her permanent shape since sh...

Over Two Months and Still happy

It's now been over 2 months since I ditched invisalign and went with Damon braces. I couldn't be happier. I have experienced no painful moments whatsoever and my teeth are really moving into position great. I couldn't be happier.

Tomjscott - How long did it take you to get your trays from the time you got your impressions made? It was a couple of months. What happen to the trays when you decided to go w/metal braces after one day? I returned the one tray that I received to my orthodontist. Did you get all your trays on your...

Someone simply asked for other people's experiences. I am simply relating my honest experience. After my horrible experience, I feel that others have the right to know that it isn't all roses for everyone. I would certainly have wanted to know before I got into them.

I had invisalign for a day and couldn't take the ritual of trying to take them out after every meal. It was a 45 minute fiasco with unbelievable pain and discomfort. After trying it, I realized that invisalign isn't as advertised. I went back to my orthodonist and got regular metal braces. I didn't ...

What works for some people does not work for others, tomjscott!
True, but even my orthodontist said that he is steering people away from invisalign more and more due to things that are coming to light lately.

You will definitely feel like your front teeth are going to break off for the first few weeks maybe even first month you have them. I spent 15 min or so each time I had to take them out at first & could only do so using the tool. I just got my new Damon braces in this morning and you know what ...

Don't get invisalign. I just got it and dropped my treatment after one day. It was so horrible. Check out my post called Invisalign Horror. And just so you don't think I just wimped out, I just got my regular braces on this morning. They are the ones by Damon. Believe me when I say that just getting...

No, I am done with invisalign. I spoke with my orthodontist and we are switching my treatment plan to more traditional braces. I will have Damon style braces on top and regular metal braces on the bottom. I get them in either this Friday or Monday.
