I am normally so good at biting my tongue - metaphorically speaking folks - but cant stop myself today. Honestly what a load of angst in a teacup. You know when someone just needs a good slap.........

A piece of fleshy part of the tongue got caught between the bracket and the wire and I coudnt get it free for about a minute - it seemed a very long minute as I was in a meeting at work and I was beginning to think Id be s...

blimey. You're all bunch of tough nuts. I had two impacted wisdom teeth out (under general anaesthetic) and spent a week in hospital recuperating. It was great. Private swimming pool in the hospital grounds, room service. Would almost have the other two non impacted ones out just for the rest

Well, it does sound unlikely. Presuming you dont want to/cant post a before and after picture, surely the thing to do is to get an honest opinion from someone who knows you. Scarring sounds like an extreme word to use when normally braces cause -certainly annoying and painful - ulcers but not ones t...

I had my wisdom teeth bracketed and then part way through the process the archwire was extended to include them. The reason they are often left unbracketed is (a) they typically have shorter roots than "normal" teeth and (b) very many people dont use them in the sense that the top ones may...

They look good but was the reason for the braces something uncosmetic since from the picture of the top teeth there is obviously nothing visible that needs changing. Come clean - are they really "recreational braces"? See a previous discussion topic on this issue.

Ive had Damon 3's for a year and a half and not had any of the brackets debond. I'm amazed how robust they are given I dont eat much differently to how I did before. As for the visual impact, not a lot of difference between the full metal and the half metal. People will notice (and not give a damn) ...

I see Dr Michael Dineen, 45 Dora St Hurstville. Been going there a year and he seem to know what he's doing. You dont get a lot of chat as to your progress etc etc and the assistants do some of the basic work (getting brackets opened/off etc). However, overall Id say about 8 out of 10

I moved countries (and will be moving back home again) and found a local orthodontist who could continue the treatment. No big deal at all. its not like there arent thousands of competent dentists the world over. Still think you should persist with your dentist and see if he can recommend anyone - d...

I thought it would never get back to normal. Then r...

Hello I changed Orthos 3 months ago when I moved from London to Sydney. I asked my London Ortho if he could recommend someone in Sydney which he did. (Often there is an informal network of contacts since a lot of orthos travel and attend conferences around the world.) My UK ortho gave me a letter of...
