Topic: Root Resorption symptoms please?

My husband ended up with external root resorbtion on one of his front teeth that we were told was due to trauma when he was young (I think a puck in the face). The tooth was long since dead and was greying so he decided to have a veneer on it for appearances. Then around three or four years later (w...

I hate fine tuning!

Hmmm.... be prepared for a grumpy post... Had another adjustment today. Eight weeks ago at my last appointment I was told that the only thing left to do was correct my midline. Sooo, I did that and it is now perfect. However, I did NOT get my debanding date as I anticipated. Instead there was a new ...

By the time my bite was fairly good and everything was in line, my ortho addressed the midline thing last. I believe mine was off by about 1-1 1/2 mm and three months with elastics fixed it up. I'm so excited for my appt Monday, expecting to be told that I'm done!!

I wish I had a better memory as then I could just cut and paste from the site(s) I read this on... When I first had braces I did a lot of reading on different orthodontists web site about braces, how they worked, their methodology, etc, and I noticed that while the 'older' method was to work with ch...

I believe if you hang your head in shame over ANY quality you perceive as a negative in yourself, those negative feelings are what other people react to, not the negative quality itself!

I'm in the speed system too Braves. It does differ slightly from Damons as it does have a spring behind the locking clip (just for informative purposes). I've been in them now for close to a year, and the first two months of those were virtually pain free. That was because I was in a braided (?) lig...

Beautiful new smile! You must be very excited to finally have a debanding date! I noticed your front teeth don't look as long now. Did they get pushed back up into the jaw a bit (intruded- if that's a word??), or were they shaped, or perhaps just a trick of the camera? Whatever it is, they look wond...

I must agree with all about the frustration that insurance causes! I'm in Canada but for those of you who don't know our health care only covers doctors here. Thus dentists, optomitrists, ambulance etc all come out-of-pocket without some sort of insurance. Anywhoo... my husband went to the dentist t...

Hello Brat! I really don't have answers to your questions either, but I can sympathize as I'm in sort of the same boat. My teeth are straight now, but it seems like my lower teeth are all 1/16" too far to the right. This affects my bite too (one canine too far forward, other too far back etc, c...

I agree that you should discuss this with your ortho. You said you have a narrow arch, I assume that will be widened? My arch needed widening to accomodate my teeth (no extractions) so I find my rather long, lean face has filled out a bit (yea!!). Husband can see it too, but honestly I doubt anyone ...

I am definitely not a trained psycologist , but I wonder if this could have anything to do with the degree one is unhappy about something or perhaps precisely WHAT the person is unhappy with. If in general someone is happy with themselves and who they are, but just don't like their teeth, then fixin...

Payoki, I find your post rather sad actually. We're all getting older, and well... wrinkles happen!! I would hope that you did not bother pointing out to your girlfriend the new wrinkles as this would turn what was hopefully a positive experience (her teeth getting straightened) into a slightly more...

katmc_tx - I asked the hygenist that very question when I had my teeth cleaned last month and sadly, gum tissue never regrows. She said "once it's gone... it's gone." Apparently has something to do with attachment to the tooth surface?? I also asked about grafts to fix the problem and was ...
