I've been having lots of earaches too since I got braces 6 weeks ago. I had an adjustment last week and my right ear hurt for 4 days and was very painful. But if you are concerned it would be best to call your ortho or doctor.

I too have always been very self consious about my teeth and hated to go to the dentist or hygienist. And when I first got my braces on so many people noticed them since it enhanced their crookedness. But I am very happy to say that I have seen significant movement since I had them put on 5 weeks ag...

The total cost for me is $5200, zero down, interest free, $139 per month for 37 months. I also get a free bleaching for signing up for auto pay plus I signed an agreement the day of my consultation and my diagnostic records were free. This covers traditional metal, RPE and retainers. My total treatm...

What type of surgery did the previous ortho want you to have? I was told by 2 different orthos that braces without surgery would make me look worse. So I too waited to get braces. The one I have now thinks he can get good results without surgery. I'm really glad you are getting such good results! Ci...

Hi Camille, So far the spacers have been the worst part for me but after about a week they were more annoying than painful. I had my RPE installed 9 days ago and I am already getting used to it. I also have a severe gag reflex and did not once gag, not even when it was installed. I barely tasted the...

I've been thinking about it for 28 years. My treatment time is estimated at 24-30 months. Previous consults said that surgery was a must or no braces so I put it off until I got brave enough to risk jaw surgery. New ortho says he can get a good result without surgery. My braces and RPE go on Sept. 6...

My spacers will be in for 3 1/2 weeks before I get my braces. I had spacers on the uppers for 10 days then went in for a RPE fit then they put the spacers on both upper and lower for another 2 weeks. After the difficult time they had fitting the bands for the RPE I quit complaining about spacers eve...

I was 6 years old when my parents where told that there was not enough room for my teeth so that they would be severely crooked. We were very poor and through the years my parents had many misfortunes. Once my mom told me that she wished that they had been able to fix my teeth so for me I can never ...

My Ortho thought that we could get enough expansion so that I would not need to have any teeth extractions and get a wider smile. I have a lot of crowding and he does not like removing any teeth unless there is no other choice. Gunter888 please keep me updated on how the expander is going. I'm not l...

RPE
Hi everyone! I am being fitted for a RPE this Wednesday and am scheduled to have braces put on 9-6-06. I'm extremely excited. I have been doing some research and have found out that RPE does not always work for adults due to it being too painful. I'm 42 and wondering if anyone else has had a RPE and...
