I think my brackets are wearing down my teeth

I've had the white ceramic braces (upper and lower) since August. When I was examining my teeth today (which I have done a lot since I had braces, LOL) I noticed some little worn down places on two of my upper teeth. I was wondering if I had always had them, or if I had just now noticed it, when I b...

I was told it would take 18 months, no extractions, I'm 32, and I have ceramics, upper and lower.

A long time ago I had braces. I'm 30 now...had them when I was in 4th grade I think. Anyway they were done by my dentist. They looked nice when they were done. Guess what...I need braces again. Same here. The dentist didn't tell us that my jaw would change after I had my braces off (I was only 11!!...

I smile bigger with braces than I did before--even my husband commented on how pretty my smile was with braces. :) It seems like I can either not smile at all, or smile big, because with the brackets in the way I'm not really able to half-smile. It's funny, because I was looking at old pics of mysel...

I have ceramics on top and bottom, and I chose them because I wanted them to be minimally visible. I was told that the pearl colored ligatures that I got resisted staining better than the clear ones, and so far I haven't noticed any stains (I've had them 3 weeks). I'm not a big coffee drinker, but I...

I really like this floss!

I just received my order of the Glide floss with the one stiff end (ordered from the DentaKit website) and it is really great! The stiff end works much better for me than those threaders that the ortho gave me.

I posted a pic of my teeth in my first post, and I will agree that I thought my teeth look totally disgusting! However, I have seen people posting pics that I thought looked worse than mine :P so it wasn't too bad. Plus, none of you know my real name or where I live. :D

My dentist first suggested braces to me several years ago--probably 5 or so. At the time I thought "no way" because he said I'd need my wisdom teeth pulled first. Then I ended up getting my wisdom teeth out due to some pain I was having, that was about 3 years ago. I've been considering it...

I've only had braces for 2 weeks, but my husband (who wore them for a couple years in his teens) says that the only thing that gave him trouble was caramels--he broke an arch wire more than once eating caramels.

I've never had this appliance, but my daughter started wearing twin blocks in May, and if you Google them you will see that twin blocks are basically two big ol' pieces of plastic in your mouth. She was having a really bad time of it for the first three days--apparently it takes at least three days ...

Ow! I am unable to close my mouth all the way right now too, because of the positioning of the brackets on the third tooth from the middle (both sides) on the bottom. It is really a pain in the neck. I hope you are able to get some relief soon.

I remember being so mortified at the dentist's when I was a teenager, and they hygienist told me I had a lot of saliva. :?

Now apparently it's better to have too much saliva than too little (for dental health reasons), but it is rather unpleasant, especially when I floss!

Thanks everybody! I keep looking at post-braces pictures here on the site and I want my teeth to look that way! BTW forgot to mention that I've got the ceramic ones on the top and bottom this time around. I was interested in the Invisalign but they would have cost about $1K more and I already felt g...

I hate these stupid braces!

Warning--whining ahead! Pretty bad when your first post to a forum is a big ol' whine, isn't it? I had braces put on 9 days ago, on August 16. Pretty much not a day has passed since then when I didn't wish I could rip these stupid things off my face and throw them in the trash! I can't believe I wil...
