i asked about keeping my molds when i got debanded. before that i saw them a couple of times near the end of my treatment as the ortho would have them on a table beside her and i would sneak peeks. she said she needed to keep the mold for a year after debanding (that would just cover the last time s...

hmm, i never heard of this. however, from what you describe, it sounds similar to what would be a powerchain's link, but affixed behind the teeth. i guess the hooks would then take the place of an actual bracket for anchorage. let us know how it goes.

ohhh, now that u mention it, i can see it between the teeth. hawley's should be able to help move the teeth back together as i think that's what retainerjoe meant. keep us updated.

i agree with retainerjoe...and maybe if you're not opposed to having an upper bonded retainer you should enquire about having one placed. hope all goes well :)

debanding is fun just for the anticipation of the outcome :) everyone may have slightly different details of how the Ortho did it. my ortho placed my bonded retainers first, then removed my braces and finally showed me how to place the upper hawley (i wrote about it in detail in a topic somewhere lo...

Definitely enquire about what can be done via tweaking retainers, bonding etc. It's not nice to go around with that unsatisfied feeling and it probably won't go way just like that. I think you should give it a shot for sure. However, I also want to reassure you that you're teeth are quite nice and t...

I smiled a LOT. I think my parents were more afraid of my smile than I was! HAHA!! That's funny! You're obviously just a person who's more confident than some others like myself. That's great. I wish I didn't let my disdain of my teeth alter my reactions so much and stuff, I really let it keep me b...

Hi all, and hello again Whitters , my retainers are less of a bother now and I've just wrapped my mind around the fact that my midline is maybe about 0.7mm off now (though I'm meticulous and wanted them to remain perfect). I didn't email the Ortho about them and when wearing them at night I notice m...

Hey I am sorry you're not thrilled with your results after all the anticipation I'm sure you had. I have some issues pending concerning occlusion and emailed my Ortho one week before debanding. She simply assured me again that they would 'settle' into place. As far as I can see it will take a whole ...

I didn't have any special appliances either. A long time ago I scared my little sister by telling her that she would def. need headgear because her teeth were all over the place, to the naked eye. I really thought she would, but the Ortho said that she woudn't need anything special either. I guess t...

For several months my top side teeth were hitting the brackets below them on one side of my mouth. It was painful and sensitive and I just had to learn to chew on the other side. Eventually as the teeth moved, the pain went away and then the teeth also stop clashing like that. Since this issue is wi...
