expander

Hey guys I've been there. PastorHeather I know how it feels to be in front of a group. I am a teacher. I taught the day I got the expander (after the 1st one didn't fit) and had my surgery the next day. It was thanksgiving weekend. I went back on Monday (5days) and taught everyday. colors

I am getting boring. I went all gray today. My ortho told me that gray is the strongest powerchain and after a year I want things to move quickly. I just guess I'm bored with braces and picking colors isn't much fun any more. I am on a 3 week schedule so I have until March 4 to pick new colors for t...

Adjustment

I am on a 3-week schedule to change powerchains on the top to move those stubborn front 4 teeth. I am in all gray. Colors don't excite me anymore and gray is the strongest powerchain. The ortho told me I need a bit of ClassII correction on the left and to get the front mid-line together. It is obvio...

burshing

yep I've done it, flossed too. Now I"m in the last wires I'll have so no more removing them. I do think you do a better job without the archwire and I love the feel of being a "speed flosser" even if it was once in awhile.

bonding

While I'm not out of braces quite yet I know I will have bonding done to my 2 lateral incisors (#2's) on the top. They are not quite as large as they should be and I will have a gap between them and my canines. My ortho is willing to take of the braces, let me whiten my teeth, then get bonded for th...

elastics

I don't have different wearing times. I have different configurations alltogether. On the right I have a 3-3-4 that my ortho called a "holding pattern" because right side of my mouth is finished. On the left I have a 6-3 that is to anchor my molars back so the front four will slide to the ...

tonsils

I hope that yours go better than mine. However I was told my tonsils were unusually large even when healthy. I would definitely take 2 weeks off. If nothing else, taking pain pills wiped me out so bad, I needed a few days after I stopped taking them to finish sleeping them off.

RPE

I totally get it. I got my RPE the day before surgery 11/23/06. I was removed in May when I got a TPA it was not removed until September. So counting that up I went 10 months with something across the roof of my mouth. When they took out the TPA they left the parts that held it in place and now I ge...

I turned 1 time once a day for 5 weeks. I had to keep going back to recheck. I expanded 8.5mm. Another person here, Jenn, had to go back and rexpand after 2 months. I promise it will end.

Sarpe

I know everyone is different, but I'll tell you it's not that big. I had surgery on a Wednesday, went back to work on Monday full time teaching and was chewing food a week after surgery. Make sure you ice about 24/7 for the first 3 to 4 days. It helps with both pain and swelling. After 3 weeks my OS...

My stubborn front teeth

Hey guys, I know I don't post often anymore, but I thought this might be an odd adjustment. I went in to get the top powerchain changed and the bottom powerchain removed. I finally broke down and asked about a time line. I asked if eating corn on the cob at the State Fair in September was a good goa...

surgery

I just did it. I had my tonsils removed 12/21. I have braces too. My ent said not a problem. However, I must tell you having my tonsils out is BY FAR the worst pain I've ever experienced. I have had 2 c-sections, my appendix and gallbladder removed and SARPE. I'm still using percocet to sleep 2 week...

update on tonsils and teeth

Well, the tonsils are out. It was MUCH, MUCH worse than the sarpe. I am just now eating foods that you have to chew.(11days) I ate potato chips a week after sarpe. On the braces front I am sporting power chains both top and bottom. THis should be the last month for the bottom power chain. They will ...
