Hi there cOOky and welcome to the forum from another citizen of Leeds!
Hope your ortho treatment goes well, congratulations for taking the plunge. That's the hardest part.

What has your ortho described as your treatment plan? Hope it's straightforward and doesn't include anything too heavy.

Hi Dramaqueendaisy, I've currently got two mini-implant screws in my gum on the lower left-hand side, to help with closing an extraction gap by pulling the molars forward. They were supposed to go on the right-hand side as well, but the gap is closing well enough by itself. Anyway enough of myself, ...

Hi Luke, Sorry you've been waiting so long, that's not on at all. We're supposed to be a highly developed nation and for the amount of money we pump into the NHS things should be much better than this. Not that I'm blaming anyone who works in the NHS, it's the people running it in my opinion. You co...

My ortho lives and works in Germany, and then travels over once a month (from Thurs-Sat) to see the people (& myself !) at the practice I go to. Unfortunately, it's not the same time every month so my appointments can be anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks apart. I've brought this up with him in the past...

I agree with everyone's comments, this person has to be a bit warped.
I'm only guessing, but perhaps all these 'female' identities are in fact an older man masquerading as a younger girl?
All the better there is someone as vigilant as Lynn to root them out and stop it at source.

Hi there Newmetal, Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. I've being going with the elastics for about 4 months now. On each side I've got one elastic that runs from my molars across the gaps and hooks onto a lower canine, then another from my molar to a hook on my upper canine. They can be a bit ...

Hi there Newmetal, There's been loads of improvement in your teeth over the 9 months, they look really great now. You can't be far from finished from what I can see. How did your ortho close your gaps on your lower arch? They have closed up really well. I have the same problem, and my ortho is using...

Hi ABraces, I've got two mini-screws in at the moment which are being used to close an extraction gap, and they cost £150 each. It took hardly 5 minutes to put them in either ! I guess from the other posts you can see there is a big fluctuation in the price from area to area and in different countr...

Hi there, Sorry to hear the new spring is hurting, but like Meryaten says, it will do it's job for your teeth and help get you closer to the end. The pain should be like with an adjustment, so it should settle down within a few days. Give it a week and you'll have probably forgot it's there. All the...

HI Easy, Well done on your decision. I'm sure that after the initial few months you won't be hacked off any more about having the braces and will have wondered why you were set against the idea. After the first few months you generally tend to forget they are there most of the time. Is it the social...

Hi Easy, I was reading this topic and I'm sorry some of the replies posted are so negative against you. For a lad your age having braces is not an easy ride. I go through periods where I want my braces off as well as they can be annoying and I feel self-conscious about how they look. I looked at you...

Hi there Pilotgurl, I have just had two mini screw impants put in on the 25th Jan, and I would say do not worry at all. All the apprehensions I had were were completely OTT and the procedure itself is really not bad at all, and it's over pretty quickly. When the surgeon put mine in, first of all he ...

I agree with SimInsomniac, you should ask your ortho for advice. Better safe than sorry or it could lengthen your treatment time if it's necessary to have it put back straight away and you leave it.

I had 6 in total, and then I only had them for 2 days before the braces went on!!
I've heard some real horror stories on this forum about these little devils so I was one happy person to have had them such a short time!
