OMG :D This gives me hope that eventually my gap will close. You have had amazing progress in such a short space of time. :-)o My front gap refuses to come together, :-+ but after seeing your progress I have a little bit of hope.

Actually I notice that I was more self consious before I got the braces. Because of the huge gaps I had I rarely smiled in pictures or in general. However I notice that since the braces I have been smiling alot more. Maybe its the fact that I know that progress is being made, I want to share it with...

I will put my two sense in about this topic. I got full metal because: a. they were cheaper. I was already paying over $5000 (US) for treatment. Even an extra $100 or two would have been stretching my limit as I am paying for the treatment entirely out of my pocket. b. personal preference. I did not...

As a matter of fact it did look kinda like a potato chip. She did mention that I had a deep bite.

Next time I will pay more attention to what is going on.

Thanks Dr S.

6 month anniversary and 6th adjustment and Curvy Wire

So I have had these babies in for 6 months now and I must admit I have seen alot of movement. The most movement I have seen is on the bottom arch, most if not all of the major spaces are gone. The top arch is slowly slowly coming along I guess (just not at the rate in which I would like). For my adj...

5th Adjustment

Hi All, Just want to update everybody on my progress. I went for my 5th adjustment on Monday and everything seems to be moving along. I just had my top arch braced in Feb. so I got a wire change( to 16 or something like that) and power chains on my front 4 teeth. The reason for this is because they ...

I actually had both uppers and lowers done during my lunch break( they were done months apart per the treatment schedule).

And all of my adjustments thus far are done during lunch. I guess it is really a matter of personal preference.

Teeth Sensitivity

Hi guys, I have a problem ever since my adjustment yesterday my teeth have been very sensitive to the cold. I can't even rinse with cold water. This has never happened to me before. I dont know if this will wear off after a couple of days. Is there anything that I can do. This is a pain. I dont want...

3rd and 4th Adjustment

My third and fourth adjustment have passed, I didn't have time to update. My lowers have been on since October '06. I have had one wire change and a new power chain every 4 weeks when I go in for an adjustment. The spaces on the bottom have closed quite a bit (sorry I dont have pics). My uppers were...

Hey TL I have small teeth also and my ortho said that may be a cause of all the spacing that I have. Like you I have a gap between my two front uppers and also a lot of spacing on the lowers. Because of this I only got my lowers banded for the moment as they were trying to make space to move the upp...

Good Luck on your braces journey. Like you I have spaces and at two months I can see some of them closing already. So don't worry too much.

Good Luck again.

2nd Adjustment-Uneventful

Well I went in for my second adjustment this past Monday and nothing happened really. I just got a new powerchain, no new wire or any exciting :( However the ortho did say that maybe in the next visit of two I will get my top arch braced which is up from the original time of 6 months. So I guess thi...

1st Adjustment

I went today for my 1st adjustment since my lower arch was braced in october. After the ortho checked my teeth she put on a stronger wire and said it was time for powerchains to start closing my gaps. I am not feeling any thingg as yet (knocking on wood) so we will see how efective the chains are. I...

I am 23 and have will have full metal braces once we band my top arch. For now most people don't notice my braces on my lowers at all. Like you I have small teeth and a gap between my front teeth,so I was really worried about this in the beginning. But now I could care less because I know once my tr...

I can understand your apprehension. Since I have gotten braces you constantly think about the other person and not wanting anything to go wrong.

Dont let it hinder you though.
