Thanks! That has cleared things up for me a lot!

I am waiting to hear back from the invisalign dentist but in the meantime I will try and get back in touch with my ortho to find out what's going on! Thanks for all your time and help! :D

Meryaten, as I understand it I do not have an overjet (which is where the front teeth are too prominent?). My upper front teeth pretty much completely cover my lower at the front but they do not stick out at an angle at all - they just sit in front of the lower ones. My lower ones are pretty messed ...

Thanks Meryaten! I'll have a proper read through that when I get a moment. I'm not quite sure why she did not want to address my overbite. She said that she did not feel it would do any good to correct it - at least not proportionally to how much time/ effort it would take to correct it. Currently m...

I just had a second consult with my ortho and she wants to put metal brackets on my tops and lowers. Only problem is I have a deep overbite which she says will make me likely to bite off my lower brackets. Since she does not intend correcting my overbite, I got the feeling that catching my top teeth...

I just changed to a new dentist and it is staffed entirely by women - in fact only one man works there and he's the receptionist! :D

It makes for a nice change!

Hi, that sounds horrible, I'm so sorry you're in such pain. I'm not braced yet so I don't know if it's normal, but I remember seeing on the Braces FAQ on the main Archwired site that Lynn (the site owner) said that for her it felt like she'd been hit in the teeth with a baseball bat too. Have a look...

I am not braced yet but am currently trying to decide between two orthos - one is on my doorstep, literally a three minute walk from my house and the treatment would be free. The other is 250 miles away, which is a five hour drive, and will cost upto £3000. Seems obvious which to choose, but the on...

This Dispatches video is typical of the way the majority of British science documentaries have gone recently. They're far more concerned with sensationalizing their subject matter than portraying balanced arguments. They seem to have the view that the public are too stupid to watch something that's ...

Good luck getting braced tomorrow, lillibut! I'm sure it will go really well for you!
I'm a little jealous - I'm still so early on in this whole process that I kinda wish I was at the stage you're at!

Good luck - and let us know how you get on! :)

Hi Clover! Nice to hear from someone in Scotland! I'm really glad to hear that you have been ok in full metals - judging by the difficulty I've had finding orthodontists anywhere but Edinburgh and Glasgow I was a bit worried that Scotland is trailing behind a bit in terms of being open-minded toward...
