Re: Really bad problem, any idea's? updated x-ray pictures
Well it has been a few years since I posted on here. So here is the update..... Since my last posts, my braces were removed, my teeth were braced with bonding material in front to prevent them from falling out. I spent many months searching for someone to take on my case and I found a very adventuro...

I had the bite turbos on the back side of my two front upper teeth to prevent my lower teeth from hitting them and pushing them forward. They were made from bonding material and prevented my molars from touching which made chewing almost impossible for the first week. They worked great while they we...

I wnet for my adjustment on Thursday Nov 30, and my ortho talked to me about what he and the new periodontist discussed. He feels that the guy is to quick to pull teeth and that if they are not bothering me to try to keep them. From his office I went to my original periodontist office to schedule an...

http://pictures.aol.com/bw/allThumbnails.do?sn=jacquiemz Here are a couple of x-rays of the worst sections of my teeth. Note the bone loss, one is of the front lower incisors, and the other is of 2 rear molars that the braces pulled forward. Does anyone else with braces have this extensive bone loss...

Jackie, look at any systemic problems which may be exacerbating the peridontal / gum problems, for example a thyroid imbalance or diabetes. I hope things improve for you Kind Regards Missy I do have hypothyroidism (low thyroid) and a family history of diabetes, no dentist has asked about this befor...

I think to fix his smile it would be like $10,000. Still cheaper than a car. I'd do it if I could pay installments. . The periodontist said a full mouth of implants would cost between $80 to $100 thousand dollars. I don't know what dentures or partials cost because he never gave me the oportunity t...

Thanks for all the words of encouragement from all of you. My situation seems hopeless. As I posted earlier, the last perio I went to wanted to remove the braces and pull 8 teeth immediatly, then there were 6 questionable in his report that most likely would need to be pulled, which left 6 teeth tha...

Yes I have asked about implants. I was told that the problem that caused the bone loss in the first place could affect the bone around the implant also and I would have the same problem. I would need bone graphs in order to have implants anyway. My bone loss is extensive and I shouldn't have been ad...

Re: Really bad problem, any idea's?
The first thing I want to comment on is Periodontal disease is a progressive and diminishing disease. It takes many years even in the worst cases. It can be accelerated by orthodontic forces applied to your teeth. But it takes time for the bone levels to decrease. Where you diligent about cleanings...

Really bad problem, any idea's? updated x-ray pictures
Ok, some of you have read about my problems, if not, then if you are interested read my previous posts. Here is the latest disaster.... I called around to find a dentist, periodontist and oral surgury group to help me get the work I need done after the braces come off and the teeth fall out. THEY WO...

Karen, That is my concern too. Like I stated before, my Periodontist and my Orthodontist are good friends (they play squash together), that is why I want a copy of the original x-rays to take with me to the next Periodontist. What is my recourse if the condition was not good for braces? I lose my te...

Karen, I know it doesn't regrow bone, what I was referring to is exactly what you stated, but I haven't had that happen in my mouth, the teeth do not retighten, they remain loose and no firming is occuring, which leads to more movement and more trauma. Like I satated in an earlier post, the OD seems...

Jackie your comment ... ... I was hoping that the braces would encourage bone growth ... concerns me, as my perio told me that bone loss is permenent and the only way that this can be corrected is with bone grafting surgery. I don't know why ... but something just doesn't sound right about your tre...

I don't think I need to see another periodontist, I can tell by my own eyes what is going on in my mouth and the condition of the teeth, I have been living with this for 15+ years and have researched it, I was hoping that the braces would encourage bone growth, but it hasn't, it has just weakened th...

Got evaluated
Well I went for my second opinion from the Periodontist today. Things are looking grim. He said I needed to get the braces off ASAP, have at least 8 teeth pulled ( I only have 20) and that most likely when the braces come off my bottom teeth in the front will fall out, there is no bone holding one o...
