Thanks for the support all.
Thanks for the suggestion Clo. I think I'm going to try that while I wait to hear back from my ortho.

Problem w/jaw, I want my elastics back!!!
I've had my braces for about 10 months now, and I just got done wearing elastics. My problem is my jaw is really hurting since I haven't been wearing my elastics anymore. I am still supposed to wear my elastics , but only at night, but I want to wear them full time again. I'm in a lot of pain. My ja...

Thanks for the info Dr. Rick, sounds like I just have a stubborn tooth :). I'm certainly going to keep up with my retainer wear after this round of braces. Also, is it a big deal that I didn't disclose to my orthodontist that I'd had braces before? Could he already know from looking at my teeth, eve...

I will talk to my ortho about this. I didn't want to mention it to him because, I never told him I had braces before this  . I know, really bad. My teeth went back to way they were before I had braces, because I never wore my retainers from day 1. I didn't want to admit this to him, but I will...

Can relapse cause problems in 2nd round of treatment/braces?
I went to the ortho today for an adjustment. I got new powerchains on both the uppers and lowers, and I'm still on elastics. I have a space between my lower incisors that my ortho said is closing slower than he'd expected. Could my relapse have anything to do with this? Here's some background info: ...

Thanks Karen for the info. Sorry about the confusion, I meant how long do people normally wear elastics in their treatment time? I'm allowed to take mine out to eat and brush. I couldn't imagine eating with them in, I can barely open my mouth. Did you know what I meant about my teeth hurt when I tak...

Thanks everyone for the encouragement :). Things are much better now that I've been wearing the elastics for a few days. My teeth are now only slightly sore, and I hardly notice I'm even wearing my elastics anymore. One question though, when I take my elastics out my lower molars (2nd from last, ela...

Great news, the expander is out :)! It was removed on Friday, and it feels so great to have all that space back! Now for my adjustment update. He put in a new super heavy rectangular wire on the lowers, OUCH! I got new upper and lower powerchains, and to top it all off super heavy elastics on both s...

Expander coming off early :) !!!
Got a call from my ortho office today. Said they have an opening on friday. So, I'll be getting my expander out on the 27th (hopefully, if all goes as expected) instead of the 31st. I know it's only a few days difference, but I can't wait to have my expander out. It's going to be so much easier to e...

Hi Newbie
Hi everyone, I just heard about this site from meryeaten, and bracedagain. I'm so glad I finally made it here. I wish I would have found this site before I got my braces, but I'll have plenty of time to spend here now :) I currently have braces. This is my second time being braced, and hopefully my ...
