I think it could be a very good way to open the conversation. Now you're in the swing! The only concern is that you have a tech or admin answer your questions instead of the ortho, but if that's the case, then you can still ask for the consult, print the replies and ask in person. At least if you ge...

Hi again Yaz, If you bought a new tv for $5000 and it didn't seem to show the color green, you'd ask about it, right? Maybe take it back? Same thing here. You're not sure that the outcome is what you should expect -or- accept. Maybe there's a simple explanation like retainers... but you need to know...

I had maxillary expansion surgery last November after fighting with both medical and dental insurance companies for coverage for a year. Medical said it was a dental problem, even though it was structural - and I had been diagnosed with sleep apnea. Why they would rather pay thousands for CPAP and T...

Hi -Ville- and welcome!!! Sorry to hear that you're in pain, but do keep up with the Motrin/Tylenol and salt water rinses... it will help! And weirdly enough, singing helps me to limber up my mouth and lips after adjustments, although I can only do it in private as I really don't sing well... anyway...

Congratulations a day early! I am jealous!! To answer your question: yes, retainers can be used to adjust teeth. My 15 year old doesn't need braces, but has a retainer which is rotating one lower front tooth into being aligned. He wears it at night and it's working quite well. Don't know about the l...

Everyone has given you great advice here, but only you can internalize it. Think back on the reasons you decided to go forward with this, whether functional or cosmetic; there is a good reason for braces and at the end of your treatment, you'll look and feel so much better. Fact is, you could -and d...

Yup, you get to crank your expander, unless you have someone at home who wants to do it for you  You can always ask your ortho/tech to do it when you go in, but it's a daily exercise that you'll be doing for a few weeks, so you'll have to get used to it. It's not really hard to do, but getting...

Insufficient pressure! Simple failure analysis indicates the need for an iterative process to establish the correct pressure which will produce optimal results. However, the body being dynamic, the required pressure will vary, hence a range of performance results will be expected. Need a hall pass t...

Lisa65,
You are on home turf for archery! One of the best and nicest places is Quick's Archery with four stores to serve you in Waterlooville, Sapcote, Walton-on-Thames and Honiton. Or online at http://www.quicks.com/
That zip strip was a brilliant idea too!

Yea Beckvan!!! It's going to be all right -- really! You'll get used to things, I promise. Hate to put it this way, but it's kinda like being a horse with a bit... you gotta break them in. I have the same problem with my upper lip hanging on the top of my braces. As weird as it may seem, try rolling...
