Hi all, Thank you so much for all the kind words. Its a journey for sure, but one that is well worth it in the end :) As far as the residual swelling, I still have some (that I notice) but its so minimal that no one else does. You know how you notice every little idiosyncracy (sp?) about yourself? I...

Hi Kate, I was on the couch for 2 weeks after my Upper/Lower surgery. It was terrible, b/c I have always been a stomach sleeper, so those 2 weeks on my back out on the couch were horrible. I remember my first night back to my bed like it was yesterday though. One of the greatest nights of sleep I ha...

c, Careful with the Hydrogen Peroxide rinsing at such an early stage. I was told not to use it (even with water) cause it can be too much for all the new skin that is healing back into your mouth, and in turn extend the healing process rather than shorten it... Salt water was fine, but no peroxide, ...

6 weeks, woo hoo! :)

Today marks the end of my first 6 weeks post op, and more importantly, my 6 week no chew diet :) I am freaking stoked! Still a little bit on the worried side about chewing on things, but I must ask for opinions on what is rather easy to begin with? Obviously, I know I wont be eating any steak or any...

Hey everybody, I hope all is well :) I just got my xrays back from my upper/lower surgery, and I have to admit, they are pretty cool. I thought I would share them (in case anyone is interested). I ended up with 4 plates on top, and 7 screws on the bottom... Crazy! http://myspace-343.vo.llnwd.net/015...

Hi Ducky, If I do use heat (which I dont do very often) I just use a heating pad on the parts of my face that are swollen...
