Kim, My mouth is sore tonight. Not really from the bands but I had to talk a lot at work today and my tongue is sore and my teeth have shifted a bit due to the spacers and are just sore and sensitive. I have one tooth that is hard to bite on as it's gotten extra sensitive. Hope it's nothing serious!...

Just a little update. I got the bands fixed and the ortho put another band on that he had spacers in for. So, it's on to the Nance next! The staff is starting to remember me from time to time so that's kinda cool too!
Anyway, just thought I'd update y'all!

I have 5 brackets (molar bands) without the wires or ligs. Defintely need wax and the salt water rinses have helped a lot. I've had them for 1 week and now I only have to wax a couple brackets. You do get used to them eventually I've found out! Never thought about having ligs put on them. Good luck!...

I can so relate to the silver fillings! Yep, they liked to do that. I remember that my first dentist appointment left me with 4 fillings! Yikes! As an adult I think I've had 2 fillings total. So glad they changed that.

Good News, I went to the pharmacy and found wax! I promptly stuck some on and it I now it will be feeling better really soon. I am finding it difficult to swallow though due to my tongue hitting on those inner tabs on the bands. Oh well. Figure I will get used to that soon too. :) Thanks for the sug...

Thanks Karen! I'll check out the pharmacy. I was surprised that my large grocery store didn't sell any ortho wax but hopefully the pharmacy will have some. I'm not sure if my ortho is open today. They are staffed to work on Mondays and Tuesdays but if I can't find any wax I will be calling them for ...

I'll try to remember that if I still sound funny to myself! Hopefully it won't be double time to get used to it since I'll have both. LOL. I don't know yet if the bite plate is permanent or one you can take out. Guess I'll find out soon enough!
